59 low light ghia in perfect mechanica condition but preserving its patina

1959 low light in what I will describe as in " preserved semi-resto condition "
Don't be fooled by the matte low to none-gloss finish on this Ghia ....pay attention to the details big and small, this gem has been brought back to life with no expenses spared. every nut and bolt has been touched, refurbished or replace with original or N,O.S. components.Most of the work to bring this ghia to this level of reliability and style was done by Steven Van assche in Belgium.
Original 1959 owners manual is included as well as the lock shifters manual ans key and Birth Zertifikat from the Volkswagen Automuseum in Germany.
It began its life in Germany 05/29/1959 in Osnabrueck to be precise VIN 2 432 286 L353 brilliant red, then it was delivered to South Sweden on 06/02/1959where it lived most of its life. At some point in the 1990's the car made its way to Belgium where it was preserved/restored by renown VW enthusiast and connoisseur Frank Stockton, under his care the floor pan was powder coated and restore, brake lines both soft and hard have been replaced, the complete electrical wiring harness was removed and replaced with brand new original wiring, all this while keeping the original crash box transmission and a 1100 cc motor with number correct for the 1959 type 1 year. All rubber and seals have been replaced with ne, including, engine deck lid, front hood, windshield, rear glas, door seal, door frame seal, quarter window seals .
in 2022 the 59 Karmann Ghia was imported to the U.S.A. via Long Beach port of entry and it has lived in southern California ever since. The Ghia is only driven on sunny California days and to Car shows all over southern California with very low to none maintenance required due to very low use hence the perfect mechanical condition .
Details : all of the underside is in "like new condition" including the engine bay are, the trunk and gas tank area have been painted and detailed to "like new " and the same with the wheel well, please examine the pictures to appreciate in detail .
Mechanical : the 1100 cc engine is in perfect condition runs strong and smooth like well-oiled sewing machine paired with its original transmission runs perfect and shifts smooth thru all gears the exhaust has also been upgraded to a new Abarath & C muffler . you can cruise all day at 65mph about 100 Km/hr safely, Brakes and suspension are all new included new shocks upgraded to Koni Porsche quality . the steering and alignment is on poin, the car drives like a brand new 1959 karmann ghia . The odometer reads 72971 but I honestly believe that is not accurate, I think the odometer is beyond its mechanical limits,again this car is 66 years old.
Electrical : All new wiring original new or N.O.S. everything working in perfect condition including: interior dome ligh, stop lights with NOS original Hella tail lights, turn signals . front turn signals and driving lights also work perfectly as well as the pair of original horns/klaxon, also notice the very rare and hard to find Euro Hella fluted head lights .
Interior: Comes with what once was a N.O.S. shift lock and key that works perfectly . Coco mats plus the original style rubber floor mats in Brown. 8 pieces complete set of mats: The Front Panel (Bulkhead) one-piece Mat, the driver's Front Floor Mat, the Passenger Front Floor Mat, the 2 Rear Floor Mats, the Left and Right Sill Mats, and the Tunnel Mat.
All mats will be Double color /Double texture mats. The rear side is always black.
the rubber material is pigmented, instead of a layer of cured paint. This means that wear is not a factor anymore!
The head liner is original to the car and very well preserved for its ag, door panels and quarter panels are original to the car and in my opinion in very good condition for being 66 years old. Back seats and upholstery is original to the car as well as the German squared weave carpet that you se in the luggage area .The front seats are Ghia seats upholstery is of a different fabric than the rear seat but the aging of the fabri, the texture and the vibe is the same . Comes with the original rear view mirror and functional sun visors in good condition for their age.
Exterior : front and rear Euro bumpers are in excellent condition with chrome that shines nicel, Original new Hella tail lights, red tip aerial radio antenna in beautiful condition as well as the fender swan neck fender mirror . all body moldings emblems and trim is present and in excellent condition. comes with Coker thin white wall radial tires ( the best option for comfortable driving safety and style ) but buyer can also pick between the thin wall white walls or old fashion Firestone thick white wall tires for a more old fashion and vintage look . The car came from the factory in Germany in the same color that you see now L353 brilliant red the original paint has been preserved as much as possible not glossy or shiny while the top was redone in a lacquer black semi-gloss finish, the intention is for this Ghia to come thru to you as honest, genuine preserved and not restored to new condition ( while in many ways is as good as new )
The underside : this is a pan-off semi-resto project with plenty of hours invested in to i, including but not limited to having the pan sand blasted and powder coate, suspension has been rebuilt including all bushing and seal, new shocks all aroun, new braking system will new master cylinder and new brake lines, original transmission that work perfectly .
Comes with a clean California title and current registration plus the European plate.
