1966 Volkswagen Karmann Ghia Additional Info:
The VW Karmann Ghia was a deviation from the original Type 1 Beetle and designed and marketed as a “sports car” 2+2 from 1955-1974. Although it did not have the same performance of other sports cars you could not deny the beautiful styling by Italy’s Carrozzeira Ghia and the hand-built bodywork by Karmann.
The Type 14, as it was known, had a strong following and over 400,000 units were built. It combined the reliability of a Beetle, styling of something more exotic and the simplicity that made VW’s historic.
This car has been fully restored in the early 2000’s and became a very popular car with the entertainment industry and has been in many photo shoots (see photos) and was also a parade car for Gloria Allred in the Gay Right Parades in WHW (see video). It drives and shows very well and it a great driver that start every time you turn the key.TMU
