1987 Volkswagen Bus/Vanagon Additional Info:
I bought the van off eBay a little over a year ago, and it was in very poor condition. I've poured over $8,000 into the parts to repair it, butI don't have the time or money to continue the project. This 1987 Westfalia is NOT running and is a project, but has an new, rebuilt 2200 cc engine (that has been installed) wipers blades, struts for the back door & a brand new stainless steel exhaust system, brand new wheels and tires (also installed)and other items.Other than the wheels, tires, and engine, nothing else has been put in/on the van. There are some signs of wear and tear, and has some light rust underneath. The upholstery has no rips, tears, or burns but shows signs of age. It is clean overall. Driver window does not work. The pull out couch/bed does not smoothly open. The pop top has a minor rip,(abt 5") that the last owner covered with tape. Rest of top is in good shape and operates fine. The skylight needs to be replaced. Bumper needs rubber ends replaced. It comes with an original factory repair manual. It has it's original key, and comes with a blank backup key. The original color was red, but the last owner repainted it, and the red shows around openings (doors) and some other areas. I took this on as my first car, with a plan to drive around the U.S. I've lost interest & I've poured my life savings into it, & I want to try to get as much of my money back as possible, but that's probably not going to happen, so I've started the listing at what I paid. I have already purchased a lot of the costlier items the van will need. It requires a person who has the time and energy to finish this up. Thanks for your attention.
