This 1966 VW Deluxe 13 Window Deluxe Microbus qualifies as a GOLDENSURVIVOR, still wearing 100% of its ORIGINAL PAINT in its most desirable Sea Blue and Cumulus White color combination. It still retains all its original VIN numbers and M-code plates when it left the German factory in 1966, making it true and correct. This stunning original Deluxe 13 Window Microbus qualifies as a top shelf Californiasurvivor. The body is straight and overall pretty solid. This is for all the bus enthusiasts that demand a nice original paint bus with a near perfect exterior. The number of nicesurvivorsis very low in this condition. Without question, it is certain to be a standout in any serious collector's stable.
We purchased this 1966 VW Deluxe 13 Window from the original owners. The original owners special ordered the bus, flew out from Ca to Germany and went on a vacation from Germany and traveled throughout the USA. It has been cared for like a member of the family since new; Look at the beautiful body and Jaw Dropping Patina it has after 50 years of light use. I was told by the original owners it has logged only 67,752 miles I was told this is the original mileage, you can be the judge, as it was only used as their summer vehicle when they traveled.

Please remember this Deluxe is an UN-RESTOREDSURVIVOR. To find a Deluxe as nice as this one that’s unrestored is unheard of! (Please note) the California black license plates are for display purposes only and do not come with the bus.)

The running gear is Solid, and reliable, while still maintaining reliability and performance. Under the decklid is where the magic happens! It has a 1641 Dual Port with a, Engle Cam, custom rebuilt and tuned 40 Kadron carburetors built and tuned by the Caddie shack. It also has a custom caddie shack linkage. It has a custom bullet proof Pro Street transmission that has a 0,82 4th gear perfect for driving long distances on the freeway. the transmission has 3.80 gears with hardened keys, super diff, and welded 3rd and 4th along with a heavy duty side plate. All the lights and blinkers work as well. Lastly it has a complete Oldspeed4/12narrowed front beam with huge Porsche 944 Willwood disc brakes, with drilled and slotted rotors. It stops on a DIME!It also has custom notched rear spring plates as well.

It has a complete set of (ORIGINAL) Wide Empi Sprinster wheels, not reproductions! These are rare to find to say the least! This really sets the presidence of the bus compared to all the others!

The exterior and interior are a nice example of a true survivorthat's pretty solid, it does have some cancer issues in the corners of the front floor and a section in the cargo floor. A few small cancer bubbles on the outside of the roof. Some minor cancer around the glass.This can easily be repaired if desired. In the meantime, we have been cruising the bus in its present state for years without dealing with cosmetic details. I also wanted to mention, sorry we don't have the middle seat as the original owners removed it years ago.

Finding an original 1966 VW Deluxe 13 Window Microbus in this condition is VERY RARE. Finding one with its beautiful original Sea Blue and Cumulus White paint, with a nice original body, all original VIN plates, and one family-owned since new is nearly impossible.
