Selling my beloved Riviera (tent pops up parallel to the roof instead of at a diagonal) because I’ve got two other cars to work on, a baby to feed, and we’re closing on our first house soon. We’ve been cross country in it multiple times, from CO to GA and from GA to AZ and back.
I have removed most of the old pop up tent and will include a new one but will not install it as this is priced to sell. I've done most of the tedious work, so it should be relatively easy to do.
The Good
-Clean GA title
-Four speed manual. Shifting is smooth with the new transaxle. If you’ve ever driven an old VW with sloppy shifting, you know how great this is.
-2275cc engine w/ Engle cam rebuilt in 2014 with dual Weber carburetors. This bus is fast! Multiple mechanics and VW people have commented on how peppy it is. Look around. You won’t find another bus this fast.
-Brand new rebuilt transaxle with less than 2,000 highway miles on it.
-New clutch, brakes, shocks, and tires in 2014.
-Brand new alternator with less than 200 miles on it.
-New fan belt just installed.
-Radio/CD player with USB connectivity.
-Upholstery recently replaced
-Roof rack
-Ice box works great. Stays cold for a day or two and drains through a pipe on the outside of the van.
-Gas stove and oven work great.
The Bad
-The water tank needs a new pump. I just use bottled water so I have never had the need to replace it.
-I think the rear speaker might be out.
The Ugly
-There’s a crack on the windshield.
-There’s no structural rust as you can see from the photos of the wheel well and transaxle, but there are a few corrosion spots where the battery is, and there are a few patina spots on the outside. I like it, you may or may not.
-I pulled out the craft foam serving as insulation and planned on putting in new insulation but just haven’t had time with a new baby. It would be easy to do, though.
