1970 Volkswagen Karmann Ghia Additional Info:
It's with great reservation that I sell this Karmann Ghia. It has had tons of work done to it. This sale is for my true VW lovers! The people that know and understand what this car is and can appreciate the time that was taken. Mechanically, he car isn't running right now and will need to be tuned. The engine just turns over but won't start so the dual carb set up was removed and replaced with a single carb, nly to have the same issue. My mechanic has moved and I no longer have anyone knowledgable enough to work on my Classic VW's. The engine is a custom built 2180cc with approximately 10k miles with a single carb set up at the moment. It has a full aluminum block, alanced crank and is cammed. I'll don't remember the duration but it's not seriously radical. I have the dual 44 webers and the linkage to put things back the way the engine was originally built. The manual trans has been geared to accommodate the engine and has no issues whatsoever. Cosmetically, he car has been lowered front and rear with narrowed front beam. The wheels, umpers and mirrors were dipped grey for a different look and and is starting to flake away in some areas. The paint still looks good with very minor surface rust in certain spots. Custom wing with third brake light. The design on the side of the car is a sticker and can be removed. The interior is fully custom including dash, teering wheel, eats, oor panels, un visors, arpet but the headliner is still white. In order to fit the custom made dash and the original dash was removed. The dash has all vdo gauges and an older aftermarket radio with 2 Kenwood 6x9's in the rear deck lid and Kenwood 5x7's in the kick panel. Do to circumstances beyond my control the car has sat outside for the last 9 months along with a custom 74 ghia that just sold. Too much time and energy was taken in this build for it to sit out like that. It will need minor things I didn't want to sell this car in the middle of winter but it has to be done. You will not find a Ghia with this kind of work for the money. Please only bid if truly interested and don't take my urgency as desperation. When my reserve is met the car will sell and no offers will be considered under my reserve price. Thanks
