I am selling a 1991 VW Vanagon with 117 K Miles on original engine . I am the second owner since December of 2002 with 92K miles. Original owner kept the car well Maintained by dealer and kept all paper work.
Why am I selling the Vanagon, originally after I purchased the car 4 months
later I noticed the coolant started leaking (common problem with original Vanagon engine) so I limit my driving to more local driving.
I decided to rebuild the engine with help of my dad when financially I was ready, but unfortunately my father got sick so I had to spend my time taking care of him. Unfortunately my father never made it and he passed away over a year ago. I decided to take the Vanagon to a Vanagon service specialist. After he examining the car he suggested to just sell the car as is for someone that has the time and budget to fix it. I spoke to another Vanagon specialist and he suggested just buying an already rebuilt engine for $2500 with two-year warranty and just replacing the engine.
So here it i, please understand this is a 1991, look at the pictures carefully notice some minor rust spots dents and some oxidation on rooftop that are almost invisible in pictures. Also the technician also told me that I need to do some brake and brake line work. The engine still runs but leaks antifreeze and oil so you can’t drive more than a few blocks.
The interior is exceptionally clean as you can see in pictures.
Everything seems to work fine except for cruise control works but doesn’t hold the speed (possible vacuum leak). As you can see in pictures that I have all original parts such as the jack, spare tire, the first aid kit the triangle road sign and the owners manual. I hate to let it go but my situation doesn’t allow me to keep it here and I don’t want to leave it here in winter under the snow. So this Vanagon needs a tender loving care in a new home. If you want to ship this van to your state we can arrange that.
If you have any questions or need pictures please let me know and I will post them.
Thank you and happy bidding!!!
PS. I just realized eBay picture limit is only 24, So Please send me a message andI will give you a link to photobucket to see all 40 pictures.
