1959 VW Single Cab Pick-Up Truck

1959 Volkswagen Bus/Vanagon Additional Info:

Thisbeautiful Dove Blue Single Cab was manufactured on August 20th. 1959 and delivered tothe port in New Orleansin September of 1959.

It was sold to a military veteran in Henderson Nevada and that's where it lived until March 16th. 2015. It was then sold to a fellow in Florida and then I purchased it and had ittransported to my summer home here in Maine.

Overall condition is excellent and it is totally rust-free and has every indication of being a car from Arizona. The repaintof the original "Dove Blue" paint was dome approximately 20 years ago and the paint shines like to it was repainted last year. The undercarriage is spotless and free of any corrosion and ugly undercoating. The engine is a 1500ccmotor that was produced in September 1965.Themotor & transmission were rebuilt several years ago by a shop in Arizona. I had an "engine out" service performedlastSeptember and it had a valve adjustment, new brakes, new clutch, new heater boxes,new wheel cylinders, new axle boots, transmission service, new throttle cable and an oil & filter change. I also purchased (5) new Vanco 195/70/15 radial tires and had the wheels sandblasted and professionally repainted the proper color combination. The speedometer was also shipped to California and rebuilt by Orange Empire Speedometer. The windshield was also replaced and a new German gasket installed.
