1974 VW Beetle classic car for sale. You must see this car to believe it. As far as I can see the metal is all original and no major rust repair needs to be done. I have pulled up the carpeting and the floors are solid. I have had a professional look at it and he could not believe how rust free it was. The car has been in the family for many years. My brother lives in Florida and purchased the car in Florida. The car spent its whole life in the southeast until I shipped it to NY and then it was kept in my heated garage since I have owned it. It has never seen snow or driven on a salt treated roads. The car was taken to a VW profession five years ago to have a new clutch installed and he said it is the most rust free beetle he has ever seen. He tried to buy it from me but I told him I was not interested because I was going to restore it. I took it home and it went right back into the garage. Without warning my health went bad shortly after I parked it and I never fully recovered and that is why I am selling the car. From what I can see all the sheet metal is solid! All panels are all original and all solid as far as I know. There are no rust holes in the car at all that I can find or that the professional that installed the clutch could find. The car was originally orange. My brother does not like orange and had a friend paint it blue. The guy that painted the car did not do a great job and it is chipping. The photos I took show the chips but there is no rust under the chips and I mean no rust only the primer. Then the car got a ding it in by the fuel door at a shopping mall in Florida. My brother tried to fix the ding himself and as you can see from the pictures he didn't know what he was doing. It has a brand new clutch with less than 25 miles on it. The battery is totally dead and the brakes need to be replaced. The brakes have issues from it being stored for two years while I was recovering. The shifter needs a new mechanism right below the shifter stick. I asked the guy that installed the clutch to look at it and he said that it can be shifted but it is not easy so that will need replacing. The motor needs a tune up bad. It will run with a battery but it has a nasty miss on one cylinder. Some of the chrome is starting to pit and may need to be re-chromed. The back bumper does have pitted rust. My brother protected the body with waxing it regularly but he did think he needed to protect the chrome. Please don't ask me why he does some stupid stuff and he thought chrome never needed to be treated. This car is amazing and I would never part with it if there was any way I could recover from the damage of my illness. The car is not drivable so it will have to pick it up. The car must be paid for in cash or a Bank Certified Cashier’s Check from a well known USA bank. If you decide to pay with a check the car will NOT leave my possession until the check clears no matter how long it takes. The car is being sold as is with no warranty of any kind. A deposit of $500 is required within 48 hours. The car must be paid in full in 7 days. The car must be picked up in 7 days unless paid with cashier check then it will be 7 day from the day the check clears. All dates of payment and pickup can be adjusted at the seller’s approval if contacted by the purchaser prior and agreed upon. If you need more time to pick it up just call me and as long as we agree I can be flexible. The car is up for sale locally so I reserve the right to withdraw the car from the auction at any time. As for the spammers out there yes spammers and you know who you are. Do not contact me because I will not sell you this car.
