This is a very clean one owner 1985 Volkswagen Vanagon GL 7 passenger van with 139,135 original miles. The van has been in California since new and is a 100% completely original survivor.
Carfax/Autocheck certified no accident vehicle. Average Auto check score it 39-58, this Van scored a 46. Report availableon request.
The 1.9 lt fuel injected water-cooled engine starts right up and runs extremely well. The 4 speed manual transmission shifts easily through all the gears. The van does not leak any fluids, smoke or overheat. It has passed a strict California emissions test every-time since new. The brakes, steering and suspension are all in good condition. The van runs smooth, tight and solid down the road. It steers straight and handles well. The air conditioning works perfectly and blows strong ice cold air. All gauges show accurate and normal readings. Excellent oil pressure and temp gauge never goes past the halfway mark.
Turn signals, lights and wipers (brand new blades) all operate properly. The horn does not work?
Cosmetically the van could not be more original and completely un-touched. This van has never had any paint or body work. There are various paint and cosmetic imperfections most of which that can be seen in the pictures below (chips, nicks, fading, hazing, blisters (mostly around drivers windshield wiper), scratches, clear-coat peeling, discoloration, etc. No obvious dents. Being a California vehicle the underside is 100% healthy and rust free. The structural integrity is second to none, impressive!!!!!!
The interior is also completely original and in great shape. There is no major wear or strange odors (see pics).
The dash is without a single crack and looks amazing! The headliner is in spectacular shape, beautiful uncut door-panels with factory working speakers still in tact. Original Blaupunkt stereo sounds crisp and clear. Original rear mounted overhead speakers are still in tact (rare) and sound great!
Mics:
-Owners manual
-Windshield has cracks and needs replacement
-Clean engine compartment with good belts hoses, clamps and accessories
-Good chrome trim and weatherstripping
-Original wheels & hubcaps. Tires are in good shape, howeverwe are not sure of the age and recommend replacement.
This lovely van fits into the category of "a vehicle is only original once". So if you are looking for a 100% honest and authentic Vanagon then don't miss out on this one owner California survivor.
