1971 Volkswagen Beetle - Classic base Additional Info:
Up for sale is a classic that we all love, a 1971 Volkswagen Beetle. Being a California car its whole life, the car is exceptionally rust free with the exception of the battery tray which was patched years ago. The car runs great and is in 'daily driver' condition. The brakes are strong and don't pull left or right. The engine fires right up when hot and cold. The clutch operates smooth and has plenty of life left. This quant little bug, even with it's flaws will surely bring a smile to your face. It can be a great daily driver as is, or a great candidate for a restoration. The interior shows its agewith minor rips and the bodydoes have a fair share of small dings and a few dents (driver's door has the biggest dent). However, with a tight suspension, good steering and a great running 1600CC engine, It's a perfect, complete and rust free car to play with. 4th gear does seldom pop-out under hard acceleration, but overall the trans shifts very well and operates quietly. The car also comes with a box of spare parts, including the stock air cleaner and jack set. This Beetle was repainted about 20 years ago and appears to be hiding no bondo or other body work. I believe all the metal to be original to the car as well. It is showing 78,000 original miles and drives like it. This 1971 "Bug" was adult owned and never modified. Does need work, but it is all minor. Window regulators need to be replaced, blinker switch is broken etc. Things that are perfect weekend activities. The pans on this car have never been replaced, nor do they need to be. The battery tray was patched, but other than that, the car doesn't need a single spot of other patches or sheet metal replaced under the car.The chrome is all in good shape with minor scratches and dings. All in all, the car is perfect for someone wanting to tinker on the weekend or for someone wanting to drive a cheap, reliable classic. The car carries a clean California title, on non-op as it has been sitting for a year or two. It does run and drive very well though.Fly here and drive her home. To see or test drive this car, please call Bruce or Skyler at "Bethel's Country Motors" weekdays from 8am to 4pm 1 (916) 652-6852.
