BODY
Sporting a slick combination of Beryl Green and Pearl White 2-stage, his fully-sorted and completely road ready Beetle has, t some point, enefitted from a well done restoration. And while its body isn't concours perfect, t is very straight and carries a spectacular shine that will look excellent motoring down the road to either a VW show or your favorite local hang-out.
Being that the Beetle is one of the most popular and longest running brands of all time, ou only need a few contacts and a little bit of luck to find almost any replacement part the car might need. Accordingly, his bug's body features a ton of factory-correct bolt-ons. Up front, classic curved bonnet hangs bright trim and old school VW emblems between a guarded bumper, lassy horn grilles and Hella headlights. Behind that bonnet, mall wipers, legant mirrors and correct door handles flank stainless-trimmed Sekurit glass. Below those mirrors, raditional profile trim and metal running boards frame beefy stone shields, hrome-trimmed turn signals and a gnarly antenna. At the back of the car, raditional taillights illuminate a sculpted decklid, uro-spec fog lamps, olished exhaust and a guarded bumper. And at the top of the car, vintage luggage rack adds practicality and personality.
DRIVETRAIN
Powering this groovy bug is a 1,776cc four cylinder that mixes just the right amount of bling with just the right amount of power. At the sides of the pint-size block, wo polished air cleaners funnel wind through two Weber 2-barrels. A hot Compu-Fire coil bounces spark through a traditional points distributor and Bosch 7mm Ultra-Premium plug wires. Spent gases roll through a polished aftermarket header and polished aftermarket muffler. And attractive pulleys spin a fresh V-belt between chrome engine cowls and a snazzy CPR oil filler. Like the rest of the car, he tidy engine bay is reliable, oad ready and nice enough to display. And there are plenty of cool add-ons, ike stainless fuel lines, hrome bonnet hinges and a chrome dipstick.
Take a look under this solid VeeDub and you'll find a straight chassis that's no stranger to the open road. The flat-four engine twists power to a traditional 4-speed transaxle. Front disc and rear drum brakes bring everything to a quick standstill. The car's torsion bar and independent suspensions have been completely rebuilt at some point, resently featuring KYB front shocks and air-filled rear shocks. And at the corners of the car, ttractive EMPI Sprintstars spin 145/65R15 Continental ContiEcoContact EPs in front of 165/80R15 Nexen SB-802s.
INTERIOR
Pop this coupe's solid closing doors and you'll find a restored vinyl interior that's the perfect spot to spend a summer afternoon cruising! All four passengers, ssuming two of them are very short, njoy pleated vinyl seats and retrofitted safety belts. In front of those seats, painted and chrome-trimmed dash hangs factory telemetry beside direct-fit, P3-compatible audio. That seat and dash combo is retro-cool when framed in the car's tweed carpet, erforated headliner and plaid door panels. The driver stays connected to the road thanks to a snazzy EMPI GT steering wheel. The passengers stay entertained thanks to big Sony Xplod speakers. And everyone stores gear behind a small spare tire in the car's spacious front hatch.
No matter the car, ompleting a reliable, ully sorted restoration is very expensive. Fortunately, ou can walk right in to our RK Motors Charlotte showroom and make another person's loss your big gain! If you're looking for something that's fun, nique and stuffed with charming character, his super cool Beetle is your next classic.
