For your consideration a classic 51 year old 1966 VW Beetle 1300. The car is currently licensed, inspected and driven. It has been converted to 12 volts with the exception of the wiper motor and starter motor. There were plans to replace the transmission ( current trannyintermittently jumps out of first gear during deceleration, remains in gear when accelerating), to a later model and change out the wiper motor with a late model 12 volt. I can provide parts for both modifications if the buyer chooses to do so. Or I can make the modification on request from the winning bidder. This is a fully intact working project perfect for someone with the skills and motivation to undertake the task. The vehicle as is has areas that will need to be addressed to become a full restoration. I'm made an honest attempt to photograph the areas that would need consideration and please feel free to email for additional information. But overall for a 51 year old car it still maintains it drivability andfunctionality. It would work well as a "around town grocery getter" as the engine is underpowered for interstate traffic without some performance enhancements. However it will get excellent gas mileage with the current setup 1300 cc engine. The floor pans have been replaced by the previous owner. It also has new tires and brakes. The seats have been recovered, door panels replaced, and the headliner replaced. It has a decent carpet kit install and a reconditioned steering wheel. It starts right up and will cruise at 55 mph no problem. All of the exterior rubber trim will need to be replaced. The sun roof does work but it is not reliable for everyday use due to slippage and leaking. I have a replacement sun roof or the new owner can restore the original equipment as everything is there. There are areas of rust that will need attention, i.e.frame head area, body wheel-well area, front interior nose clip, (spare tire storage area). See pictures for details. The paint isdefinitely not the greatest. Anyway email with questions, I'm a trained VW mechanic so let me know if you have specific concerns I will be glad to answer. I've sold many VW's so what is described and advertised here won't disappoint, it will be exactly as described via this ad and in our email exchanges. Bid with confidence...NO RESERVE....... thanks for looking ........ "I will be auctioning many additional VW parts and vehicles in upcoming weeks, feel free to email if you have specific parts you are looking for ...........
