1961 Volkswagen Bus/Vanagon non Additional Info:

Rare walk-thru panel bus brought back to life after many years of being neglected and left in a field in the mid-west.
Original paint with great patina! Body is surprisingly straight with only minor bumps and scratches with no crash damage. Has brand new front floor metal and support beam below for the shift lever and hand brake. Minor corrosion holes in the lower nose, rear bulk head of right front fender with two small holes in the cargo floor behind the right front fender. Other than that she is solid and dry and could be used as is without repairing these areas. Rear bumper is original but the front is not. Needs new front door window seals and channel felt. Interior is basic, will need to be cleaned up and new door, kick and roof panels installed to help insulate from road noise. New front windshields and seals. Seats are custom install seats from a 68 bus since the original seats were missing as were many, many other parts. It took much time and effort to put her back together but now all the difficult work is done.
Lowered stance includes front end - narrowed beam, flipped spindles and drum brakes, rear end - straight axle kit with notched spring plates and type 3 drums. Brakes work great and panic stops on a fifty cent piece! New bearings, bushings, seals, master cylinder, brake lines, etc...
Engine is a leaky 1600 DP with dual Weber 34 ICT carbs however runs good and gets me where I want to go
Needs a little love and minor electrical work however runs great and gets a lot of attention where ever she goes! Wouldn't take much to restore her or just leave her as the patina queen that she is!
If you are local, feel free to contact me to come see and drive her.
