1971 Deluxe / Camper. Preserved original survivor inexceptionalcondition. Rebuilt motor and brake system. Solid dry van. Mostly original paint with a absolutely stunning patina. The van runs and drives excellent and is ready to hit the road.
Motor & Transmission- Less than 500 miles on completely rebuilt 1600 cc Motor. At the time of the motor rebuild the clutch, pressure plate and throw out bearing were replaced. New Solex carb, battery, Bosh 009 distributor, fuel lines, fuel pump and voltage regulator. The motor runs like a watch. The transmission shifts well through all gears. New shift bushings were just recently installed. The van has just received a complete tune up.
Paint & Body- The van has mostly original paint. The van is super solid. The frame & undercarriage is completely rust free. The lower half of the bus was repainted its factory correct blue color at some point. The upper half (above the belt line) is 100% original. The natural blue to white fadepatina is stunning....
Brakes & Suspension- New brake booster, master cylinder, brakes, and brake lines. Brand new correct load rated tires.
Interior- Nice front and rear seat upholstery. The rear seat (z-bed) folds down into a full size bed and a fold out table. The dash is in near mint condition. New CD player and door speakers. The van has sliding camping windows on the left and rightfor much improved ventilation while driving or camping.
This is a very nice original survivor. 1971 is considered by many the best and most desirable year of the bay window. 1971 isthe first year of factory front disc brakes, last year of the desired low light early bumper style andthe upright bug type motor. I am regretfully selling this van to finish a restoration on my 67 VW bus. This bus is perfect for camping adventures, or a excellent daily driver.
note-the jump seat has been removed.
