This 1980 Triumph TR8 convertible was repowered with a 4.6-liter Rover V8 paired with a five-speed manual transmission. This is veryrare as most TR8s have the 3.5L engine with less power.The 4.6-liter Rover V8 was sourced from The Wedge Shop and features an Isky racing cam, Mallory ignition components, and a Barry Grant 625 Road Demon carburetor. The car startsruns and drives well, and enginefeels healthy.
Power is sent to the rear wheels through a five-speed manual transmission which was fitted with a new clutch and flywheel in the early 2000s. Transmission shifts good through gears.

The body was finished in Midas Gold. The bodywork and paint are fresh. Exterior equipment includes pop-up headlamps and US-market bumpers.The tan soft top is brandnew, and can be covered by a black boot when stowed. Silver 13″ Minator wheels are wrapped in Toyo Proxes RA1. The wheels and in good shape. tires are old but hold air.
The interior is trimmed in tan vinyl with brown carpeting as well as black plasticsand rubber floor mats. Appointments include a Sony CD player, Blaupunkt door speakers, and air conditioning. Interioris in good shape for the age and mileage.
A three-spoke steering wheel frames Smiths instrumentation including a speedometer and a tachometer as well as gauges for coolant temperature, fuel level, and voltage. The five-digit odometer shows just over 13k miles. Actual mileage is not known.
