1968 Triumph GT6 Additional Info:
Trying this again...the last auction went quite well and I was unfortunately unable to make a sale one way or another. However, the fact remains that I need to sell the car and decided that a set Buy It Now price while also accepting offers is the way to go. As below, please feel free to ask any questions. If you happen to be located in the Kalamazoo, Michigan area I will gladly show you the car in person.
I'm offering this GT6 for auction because I've come across another deal on a car I simply couldn't pass up and now don't have the space for this project. I've only owned this GT6 for a few months and hate to see it go because it's the cleanest GT6 I've ever seen (and I've been looking for the better part of a decade).
The car is more or less stripped on the interior but does contain a lot of spare parts in the back per the photos (door panels, light covers, trim etc.). The previous owner sorted out the suspension in both front and back and though it shows some surface rust in spots, the components are 'essentially new'. As shown in the photos there is also a small amount of surface rust on the underside of the vehicle most notably under the floorboards. The frame is in surprisingly good shape for a 50 year old British sports car.
Though I didn't technically find the car in a barn, it has been kept in a garage for the past 20 years (climate controlled for the past 8) and has only been driven ~25 miles in that time. However, the engine has been regularly turned over to keep fluids moving. At the moment, the brakes (to include the parking brake) need work and the car is a true 'roller'
Not sure when the body work was done on the car but the fender flares appear to be done quite well and show no signs of bondo or rust. The car does not have a front splitter.
Answers to questions received:* Though the car has a GT6+ badge on the rear it is to the best of my knowledge a GT6 MK1 and not a MK2. The previous owner did not know where or when the GT6+ badge was placed on the back of the car. The car is titled as a 1968 model which places it a year before production of the GT6+ (MK2) began in 1969. I have also updated the VIN on this posting.* 11/8 - The body on the car is straight down both sides and does not have any dents/bends. Subframe is free of rust (though does have some surface rust in spots). There is only one spot on the frame just behind the front passenger wheel which has been patched and looks as if it was done a long time ago. I can send more pictures of the underside of the car to anyone who would like to see (send a message). The fenders are fiberglass and not steel. At the request of an interested party I did clean up about half of the car and the paint underneath is in great shape (again, I can send pictures to anyone interested - send a message). Tires are less than 2 years old.
Car currently located in Kalamazoo, MI. Potential buyer will be responsible for coordinating shipping/pick up of vehicle.
Clean Michigan title in hand.
If you have any questions please feel free to send me a message.
