1968 Triumph TR250 Additional Info:
This is a rare and unique opportunity to get a "One Owner", all numbers matching, low mileage, time capsule of a car.We are celebratingher 50th Birthday based on theApril 1, 1968 date on the trimplate. While it is without guaranty and subjectto unintentional omissionor error,I always try to give you a good understanding of the package so you can know what you are looking at and bid accordingly. Please ask any questions you might have that I neglectedto provide below:
Its been Garaged by the same family its entire life and basically sitting for the past 30 years. Itis not running but was running when parked about 10 years ago, nothing has happened since.I am toldthe5digitspeedo did not turn over but who knows. There is surface and thru rust at the normally affected floors and body panels. The frame appears to be solid, straight and only has surface rust but I have not done any nuts and bolts work. Convertible top seems to be in fairly good condition, all the glass is there and not cracked or has major scratches. Interior need to be gutted, things like re-packing steeringbox, re-building thecooling system, replacing electronicsand wires, re-building the engine, replacing brakes exhaust etc. are all probably appropriate. Its is interesting to see how the North East weather effects a 50 year old car that while neglected for thepast 25+ years sat in the garage its entire life.
The engine ran when parked, turns over by hand. You are most likely going to want to re-build her but I would expect the usual flushing of lines, tweaking of the Carbs and fresh gas should bring it to life. Looks like it was painted with a paint brush 30 years ago. After a quick look over it appears everything is there exceptthe antenna, LOL. There is probably a little more that is not there but keep in mind there is not one thing on this car you NOT have to, refurbish, rebuild, or replace. I hoped to have more paperwork but the only nothing I was able to get was the original NJ Title.
She is in need of total Restorationbut the $35K car you'll have when your done will be a great piece in, or a great start to, your collection. To assist you to not waste your time 1.)it is a "retail" offering meaningit is not an opportunity for you snag it to to flip to someone else, and 2.)I don't reveal my reserve. To further help with your expectations, when you consider it's one of the most desirableTriumph Resto projects out there today, it is worth a few thousand as a parts car alone, then that it is a unique one owner low mileage package, parts are easy to get, and then that its all original and all there, these are all the things that add up to the sum of its value.Again this is as-is where-is with no warranty implied or expressed.
Clean Title and the car will be in hand and I will be available for you or your shipper shipper to get it on the trailer. It is located in Hawthorne NJ 07506 on Van Winkle Ave. If you come see it I know you'll want to take it home. Car will be released when wired money is deemed cleared or Cash is in hand.Good luck bidding.
