1978 Triumph Spitfire Additional Info:
I've owned this car since 2006. In that time I managed to upgrade several things.
This was to be My Car but then I bought a Willys pickup and an MGA. Sadly, this is now for sale.
It has overdrive that quit working last week. My guess is electrical but it's time to go. You'll have to work that out.
I installed new wire wheels and hubs.Stainless Steel exhaust.Correct original Tonneau cover.Boot Cover. Now convertible top this spring.
Last fall I rebuilt the engine:Bored out .010 and installed over size flat top pistons to bump compression to 9-1.I installed a 1968 Camshaft and bearings.
It got a set of 1500 carbs from England where they did not have emission laws.A new rocker shaft from Moss with new rockers with bushings honed to a .002 clearance.ARP head bolts and ARP connecting rod bolts.Head rebuilt with new valve guides and Valve Stem Seals.I drove it around all summer and would trust it to drive to California. It is located in Davisburg MI, halfway between Pontiac and Flint just a couple miles off I-75.I may have to end the auction early as it is for sale locally.
