75 TRIUMPH TR6
Auction is for my ‘75 TR-6. I bought it from a long time owner as a toy, but life has other plans for me. So, it is for sale, with a heavy heart. That being said, the car is worth every penny and don't bother me with low ball or garbage offers...plenty of rust-work required cars availableif you want to save some money up front.....sale isn't because of finances.
The car is in absolutely amazing condition. The paint shines (but it isn't perfect). There are some blems that would need to be wet sanded and polished to be prefect. Likewise, the chrome is beautiful, but not perfect. So if you are looking for the 100 point car, this would require a little work (and I mean little).
Thee car remains original for the most part. Those items that have been upgraded are done so tastefully and for the betterment of the the car (such as the soft top and tonneau cover with Jaguar fabric as noted below). The drivetrain and suspension remain original and function justfine. My non-expert thoughts are that the wheels require balancing and alignment, and whilethey work fine, the bushing do squeakand could use fresh rubber. Finally, the steering wheel was switched to wood...and I have both a 13 inch and 15 inch. Other notable items, improvements and recent work are as follows:
The Body:
Straight and rust free.
--Chrome in great condition.
--Rubber bummerguardsin excellent condition.
--Full red-wall spare and rust free compartment.
Drivetrain:
Original 4 speed with Overdrive (3rd and 4th) linked to the in line 6.
**The engine has had recent work as follows:
--engine valves and lifters replaced (now runs on unleaded with no issues).
--bothcarburetorsrecently boiled out and fully rebuilt...see them shine.
--clutch replaced.
--fly wheel replaced.
--master cylinder replaced.
--Differential rebuilt.
--muffler in excellent condition.
--Coker Red-walltires, almost new on all four corners, as well as the spare.
--Rear suspension is the original lever type and work fine.
--Bushing squeak, but are functionally fine.
Interior:
--Seats fully rebuilt with Leather...and frames powder coated.
--updated seatbelts...three point with chest and lap.
--carpets in excellent condition, and carpeted mats on both sides.
--new wood dash.
--crash pads and dash top in perfect condition.
--top rebuilt with Jaguar material...and frame powder coated.
--tonneau cover of Jaguar fabric.
--Steering wheel in wood...both a 13 inch and 15 inch.
--Factory OEM hardtop in excellent condition in and out, color match car, headliner excellent....rubber as new..around all glass.
--rubber around windshield as new.
--interior door covers like new.
--All gauges work.
--Factory OEM original radio (not hooked up)..and no speakers (I was planning bluetooth hidden receiver).
Misc.:
--Car has soft sun cover for cockpit.
--Car has Amco full cockpit cover....but it hasn't been on the car for a while and shrunk....so not useful.
--CoverCraft WeatherSheild HP Custom car cover, used on car in garage.
If you live in Calif., registration paid up for year. AND, 75 was the last model year on which you don’t require smog checks. While 76 was the last year of production, here in Calif., anything past 75 requires yearly smog checks....so I went with 75 saving on cost and hassle
39K miles….Last owner owned for over a decade and rarely drove it, as have I, but can’t guarantee it is original (but condition of car suggests it is correct, but beware…. anyone telling you about low low miles raises questions as it is exceptionally easy to disconnect the speedo….simple unscrewing cable, and still have tachometer working…so still know how fast you are going). That said, the condition of the car suggests mileage is correct.
