1963 Triumph Other Additional Info:
Well, I used to find stuff like this all the time. Not so much anymore. What this is is a 1963 Triumph TR4. That had sat for 35 years in outdoor storage behind the original owners home down in Phoenix. Since 1983. 35 years!. He covered it with tarps that rotted out and then threw another one on. Time and the occasional Arizona rain took a tol, mostly on the interior.I mucked out the piles of shredded tarps, took the fried door panels off,got the carpet and underlayment out, and pulled the seat frames out . Which were totally rusted due to water sitting in the seat bottom cushions. Kind of blew it out with pressure washer to see what is what. Floors have surface rust, though the front passenger side has a hole up front at the firewall turn.. Probably from trapped water. The lower front fenders have rust I tried to show. Also in the outer rocker. And inside the front left wheelwell. I tried to show these in pictures. But other than these, the car is solid and nice.Excellent undamaged frame, nice inner rockers, solid trunk floor.Hard to find TR4s like this that have not been mucked up over the years. The older original owner bought this in Southern California.. Then moved to Arizona in 1973. Titled it here then. Ran it here until he blew the head gasket. He took the original engine out and put a replacement in. And drove it till 1983. When he stopped driving it as he bought a 65 Jaguar 3.8 S he liked driving better. Mostly it had AC. Anyway, he had the original cylinder rebuilt by a local machine shop. Which I have and will include. Along with the rest of the engine in pieces and in boxes.Block has crank and pistons. So the original engine for this original car is there. With a rebuilt head, too boot.. The engine in the car turns easily by hand, but other than he said it was running 35 years ago, who know condition now. This TR4 will be a great base to work with. Bring it back to life with most everything there solid and nice. And unplayed with over the years. For a car that has sat in the desert for 35 years, this car is a real find and really deserves to drive down the road again. Not many chances to find neat cars like this to do that with anymore.I travel around the West Coast with my truck and trailer and might be able to get it to you or close. And can arrange trucking to Long Beach California shippers for overseas buyers for $300. Clean straight title.
