1968 Triumph Other TR 250 Additional Info:
Pictured where stored in a local warehouse is a very rare one year only production TR250, in unfinished project condition, ready for you to take over from here. The remarkable thing about this car is that it has a totally rust-free body shell, with all fenders and rockers solid, and the floorboards are even in good shape. The only rusted are is on the bonnet (hood) that I sourced from a local British car shop, since the original one was damaged in an accident. The frame looks to be as solid as you will ever find one (see photos--typical surface rust evident). This car comes with all the parts that I received from the South Carolina collector who I bought it from, and he felt that the car was mostly complete short the seats. No hubcaps for wheels. The car sits somewhat disassembled just as I bought it a couple years ago, and I have not had time to move forward on it, hence the reason for selling. If the disassembled condition bothers you, consider that on any other car you buy, if not restored, it will end up this way anyway to be painted correctly, so you are that much ahead!Essentially all parts are available from a number of suppliers if some minor items turn up missing. Many folks are installing Miata seats which fit nicely and are highback buckets, so you can get those easily and inexpensively, or grab a set from another owner who has put the Miata seats in his car. The entire interior kit is available in choice of color...I thought tan would look nice. The kit is around $550, and carpet can be bought for $300 or less. Most any car you find has holes in the floors but not this one! You save thousands not having to buy and install floors!I am selling the car as a full restoration project. The former owner said the car had been in an accident which explains the replacement of the right inner fender section which was done before I bought the car. He said it still needed some tweaking to be just right prior to painting, but much of the rest of the car has been partially sanded and primed in preparation for painting.Mechanically I do not have any info, but I would assume one would want to refurbish all brake and clutch systems and perhaps go through the engine, although for all I know it could have already been worked on to some extent in a prior ownership.I am happy to show the car, and encourage viewings, although I have described it somewhat as I know it, and pictured important areas. I can tell you from looking that you will not find a more solid base to start with. Most others you find in this price range are in need of rust repair. Start with a rust-free car and it will cost much, much less! Ebay has a limited number of photos allowed, and I wanted to show the car's remarkable solid condition, and in detail underneath, but I do have more photos of the panels and interior if needed. Original color is a navy blue. The dash is disassembled and the wood need replacing, but is available for about $300. The gauges are in a box in the trunk. Bumpers and other parts are inside the car. You will likely need some light lenses, misc. small items, etc. but as I said earlier, parts are plentiful and they are not terribly expensive. Many interchange with a TR6 other than body panels. Look here on eBay!I offer no warranties and am selling "as is", with the expectation that the winning bidder is to pay $1000 deposit preferably by PayPal within 24 hours of auction end, with balance due in 10 days, pickup within 2 weeks unless otherwise arranged. No you cannot drive it home lol! Please bid only of serious. I will assist with your shipper but all transport costs are the buyer's responsibility. The title is clear as I have registered the car in my name, and I will sign it over to the winner to be delivered upon final payment. Thanks and good luck! There is much potential here!
