1966 Triumph Other Additional Info:
This auction is for a barn find 1966 TR4A project that is 99% complete (missing only rear bumper and irons) a perfect, straight rust free frame AND the correct overdrive transmission in addition to the current standard gearbox in the car.
Car was stored on a concrete floor since the 1990s, and had appears to have had an amateurrestoration and repaint a long time ago. There is fiberglass in the rockers, so at least the outer sills will need replaced. The frame has rust on the usual spots and some angle iron repairs on the training arm mounts. The good news that a clean, straight, absolutely rust-free frame is included.
The rear fenders appear rust free and there is only some pinholing at the bottom of the fronts. All of the deck seams are visible (not filled), and the fender mounting flanges front andback are great. Even the battery tray is solid. Some rust and filler in the trunk lid, the trunk floor is great and rust free. Floors are solid. Dash is and interior is 100% complete. It appears that preparation to remove the body was started when the car was put away - all of the body bolts and pads have been removed and were found in the trunk, so doors line up worse than they would otherwise. I have not cleaned or removed anything, the car is exactly as found.
The engine is free and complete. Anything missing in the pics are in the trunk. A good used Type A OVERDRIVE gearbox is included in the purchase price.
All in all, this is a great basis for a total restoration. I would absolutely be taking this on as a project, but moving and a career change dictate otherwise.
Happy to provide any additional photos requested, personal inspections are welcome, and I can assist your shipper with loading. Clear KY title in my name.
Car will need to be collected by 12/15.
