1970 Triumph TR-6 -- Additional Info:
BECAUSE LIFE IS TOO SHORT TO DRIVE A BORING CAR!!! The CLASSIC CAR GALLERY 3266 POST RD SOUTHPORT, CT 06890 203-446-3477 1970 TRIUMPH TR6 “Fanatic owned, Gorgeous restored car, one of the best driving and well sorted Triumphs we have seen” VIN CG54347U The British arguably were the inventors of the small sports roadster. MG, Austin Healey, Lotus and Mini all built small bore sports cars characterized by lightweight designs that utilized small engines mated to nimble sporty chassis. Triumph really raised the bar with the design of the TR-6. Featuring a 2.5 liter, 6 cylinder engine and independent suspension, the car brought the performance to a much higher level, and came to epitomize the best of the British roadsters. These cars are quick, easily keep up with modern traffic while offering comfortable accommodations, good utility and ease of use. The car on offer here is a restored 1970 TRIUMPH TR6. The quality of this car is self-evident and the car is fully sorted and one of the best driving Triumphs we have ever driven. The car comes with reams of paperwork documenting the restorative work done on the car over the years. Always enthusiast owned, the car has had a level care bestowed upon it that is rarely seen. This is a rust free car and has been for its entire life. The car had a glass out respray in its original Jasmine Yellow; the quality of the paintwork is excellent with great shine and deep luster. The quality extends to the the fully detailed engine compartment as well as the underside. The BLACK interior was restored and the seats were covered in velour (no more burned hide on those hot summer days!) and the carpets are new. The dash was restored and all instrumentation works as it should. A wooden Moto Lita steering wheel ads to the package. The original 2.5 liter engine and transmission were rebuilt; new carburetors were installed. The braking system was restored including new rotors and calipers. The suspension was rebuilt and upgraded with the addition of Koni shocks. The cooling system and the entire electrical system were restored. The Panasport rims are in excellent condition and the Michelin Pilot Sport tires are barely used. All glass is excellent, and all rubber seals are fresh. The chrome and brightwork are in near new condition. The chrome bumpers are gorgeous. The canvas (not cheap vinyl!!) convertible top is new, and comes with a tonneau cover. The owners of this car were fanatics; reams of maintenance records exist detailing every oil change and bit of maintenance done on the car since the restoration. No expense was spared in the restoration of this car, and she remains in amazing condition. The car is well sorted and drives as well as any TR6 we have ever driven. Bid with confidence, as this stunning car could not be duplicated for more than twice our reserve price!!! This must be one of the finest TR-6’s on the market today.
