1954 Triumph Chevy Special Tribute Roadster Sport Hot Rod Streetrod Additional Info:
This little roadster was built as a tribute to the clever hot rodders of the late 50s and early 60s who took on and beat many of the best European road racers at their own game. There were many such specials built all across our country but very few still exist. My idea was to build a tribute to these clever folks by using period correct parts from that era. I started with a nice straight, rust free, underslung live axel Triumph chassis. These chassis were known for their ruggedness and excellent handling characteristics. I then chose a 1958 Chevrolet 283cid motor because it was the motor of choice for dependable power and ease of modification. The transmission is an early Saginaw non-synchro first, 3spd which was readily available in any wrecking yard. The motor has freshly rebuilt single camel hump heads with hardened valve seats for unleaded fuel. These heads are topped with an early Offenhauser 3x2 intake with 3 Rochester 2bbls. Everything on this car is either new or rebuilt from the chassis up. The entire brake system is new including discs, calipers, drums, wheel cylinders, master cylinder, and all lines. This car is fully sorted, runs and drives wonderfully and is extremely quick. The car weighs only 1780lbs. This car is licensed and registered in California as a 1954 Triumph TR2. It will never need a smog check Thanks for your interest.Pickup and shipping will be the responsibility of the buyer.
