Car sat in my garage for 8 years. When I uncovered the car to get it into shape to sell I found the carbs needed rebuilding, a right front brake piston is stuck and the clutch slave is stuck. I cleaned the carbs, bought a new battery and she fired up and ran great (see video). Cleaned the chassis so buyers could see there is no rust present(see video). Currently can't drive the car due to the sticking slave and clutch cylinders but I assure you the Transmission and drive train are in good working order.

History:

Per Derek Graham with TRaction publication who has data recorded from the build records held by the BMIHT for the first 100 TR6's, this car is the 4th oldest running survivor in the world.

I knew I had an early CC# but I was shocked by Derek's comment. Derek asked me to send him some details and a pic of the car for an upcoming issue of the TRaction publication. I sent him the info and a few weeks later a TRaction magazine appeared in my mailbox and inside was an article on my car with pics. I was a proud owner.

Previous owner history:

The previous owner (Ray) lived in a remote area of Oregon and his distant neighbor had a large Ranch. One day while Ray was visiting his neighbor he noticed an old British sports car in the ranchers barn. He inquired about it and the rancher told him it was his daughters TR6. He bought the car for her to go to College and she drove it until she graduated when it fell into disrepair so he pushed it into the barn. Ray rescued the car then shortly afterwards moved to TX where he performed a resto (paint/body/mechanicals/interior). Two weeks after his resto he was parked at a local shopping center when a delivery driver speeding thru the parking lot hit the right front fender. Ray couldn't believe his bad luck so he towed the car home and didn't feel like redoing the body work he had just completed. The car sat in his garage for a few months then he found an MG Midget that needed some body work so he put the TR6 up for sale. That's when I purchased the car in 2006 from Plano, TX

I cleaned out the carbs, changed the fluids, plugs, points, filters and got the car back on the road. Due the the car's rare CC# I had the intention of repainting the car it's original color (Jasmine yellow) but in the mean time I drove the car around town for a couple of years. My Corporate America job got very busy so I had to put my hobbies on hold.

Post Retirement:

Roll forward 9 years, I retired and started looking at my bucket list items (like the TR6) and had to decide if I wanted to completely restore the car. About this time my wife said "You could sell your car collection and buy one really nice car”. I started thinking about her comment and said to myself 'what car would you buy?' the first car that came to mind was my teenager dream of owning a DeTomaso Pantera. Well, just for fun I started looking for a Pantera project and found one near my town. Long story short I purchased the car so I'm selling my car collection to fund my Pantera project and the TR6 is the first car on the auction block.

This TR6 has Great Bones and would make a great restoration candidate.

Hate to see her go but my Dream Car project awaits ...

Payment details:

A non-refundable deposit of ten percent (10%) is due within forty-eight (48) hours, two (2) days, of this auction closing and can only be paid to Seller by Cash (in person), Cashier's Check, Money Order, or some other form of certified transfer in US dollars. Full payment of the final price is due within seven (7) days of this auction closing and can only be paid (in person), Cashier's Check, Money Order or certified funds in US dollars. Please be advised that you are responsible for all fees associated with the purchase of the Automobile including but not limited to taxes and registration.

Full payment is required within 7 days of auction close.

Need to hear from winning bidder within 24 hours of auction ending.

Need a deposit within 48 hours of auction ending, balance due in 7 days.

Once full payment is received, the Seller will provide clear title, Bill of Sale.

Due to the high cost of selling automobiles, any failure to pay the deposit or final price of the auction within the time noted above will result in full action through eBay and legal action though state and federal law pursuant to this contract. In addition, the Automobile will be re-listed for sale.
