1986 Toyota Pickup HiLux Additional Info:

This is one of the cleanest classic Toyota 4x4 pickup trucks I've ever seen. Sold new, and serviced at Melody Toyota, in San Bruno California. It's extremely original, and is unrestored, what you are looking at is an original paint truck. They are few and far between with original paint in this type of condition. There were more then a few items added at bill of sale on Due Bill at time of contract, pictured on the yellow paper. I have included a pic of all of the service records, and original documentation at time of sale along with the original manuals. Look at all 24 pictures. There is a treasure trove of documents with this truck, including the extended warranty service contract by American Insurance. The body on this truck is downright amazing, it's never had any rust coming from a very dry California climate. This truck has always resided here in this state, and it sports it's original blue plates as well, also getting harder and harder to find. The truck has had a bedliner in it since new, and this has never been a work truck. The stripes have been on the truck since new per the contract, so they are dry, and show cracks, I couldn't bring myself to strip them off. The truck belonged to an older couple, the husband passed, and she didn't want to let it go for the longest time. It never sat for extended periods, but just wasn't driven that much. As stated, I have all of the original paper work, and service records since new, including the window sticker, all this is included in the sale. They were very religious about servicing the truck, and meticulous about records.
Mechanically the truck is perfect, it has the 22re fuel injected 4 cylinder engine mated to an automatic transmission. The truck drives like a dream, it starts, drives, and stops exactly like it should. The factory air conditioning works fabulous, and it has brand new tires on it. I installed the 1985 SR5 wheels for a nicer look then the plain steel wheels. If you'd rather have the plain steelies, I can swap them back on for you, it's your choice. Windows roll up and down like new, the doors also open and close crisply like a new truck does. Back slider window opens, and closes like it should, and the latch works. The truck is a dlx, not an sr5, but it has many options that an sr5 would have, like the bucket seats, and double high center console. It also has tilt wheel, and the fuel injection. Fuel injection was an option then, not standard equipment, and the automatic transmission is a very rare option. About the only thing your not getting on this truck that the sr5 has is the tachometer, oil pressure gauge, and volt meter. The truck also has full rubber floors, front, and back, they look absolutely new, but are original. Why this is is because it has factory carpeted floor mats (not shown) that look brand new still btw, again very hard to find in new condition. But, there was also home carpet samples mats over the top of the oem floor mats. I'm telling you, the truck was that well cared. Meticulous maintenance, and meticulously kept clean.
Over all the interior is pretty much perfect, the seats, and floors are unripped and without stain. There is a slight tear on the rear corner of the armrest pad only on the center console lid. I didn't want to have redone for that small blemish, my interests was keeping the interior 100% unmolested. Exterior has never had rust, or been in a major accident, it's wearing 100% of its original sheet metal, there is some paint work behind the rear wheels on each side wrapping around the rear valence. I personally had this done because there were two small dents on each rear corner where it had been lightly bumped. The "paint protection" that was added at time of sale is starting to peel on the right front as well. I'm thinking that a pressure washer will take that off completely so that's gone though. The repairs look fabulous on the rear lower corners, and were light in nature, but I feel the need to disclose them, although hardly noticeable if I hadn't mentioned it. Over all I'd say the paint is 95% original considering the small repair. There are also various dents, dings, and scratches on the body. It is original paint, so it's not perfect, although it is EXTREMELY nice over all. I'd certainly never entertain the idea of repainting this truck, it's just to damn nice and original to mess with it. I'd prefer a buyer that is going to keep the miles low, and keep it as well preserved as it is now. This is a truck you could easily show at an import car/truck show, or your local show and shine. The truck gets a lot of thumbs ups, and stares when I occasionally drive it. People just gravitate towards it, and like to talk about how they had one back in the day.
With the truck how it is, you can drive it anywhere. You can fly into San Jose, and drive it home, or have it shipped, the choice is yours, and all shipping is up to the prospective buyer. I'm happy to pick you up at the airport though if you so choose. Email with questions, I'll answer quickly, and if you'd like a call leave me a number, and we can talk via telephone. If you are a California buyer, I will include a valid smog emissions certificate to you per Calif requirements with the sale. A $500 PayPal deposit to be made immediately at the time of buy it now, or best offer acceptance. The trucks passes our rigorous Calif emissions inspection with great ease. I absolutely prefer cash, but will accept wire transfer, or a cashiers check from Bank of America, Wells, or Chase banks only. These are the only banks I deal with. I will release the truck/title when funds clear from a cashiers check. Clean California title is in hand, a bank does not hold title. Thanks for looking, and I look forward to your questions. And, if you're wondering what the water on the ground is below the truck, it's condensation from the air conditioning, the truck leaks absolutely nothing.
