1985 Toyota Land Cruiser Additional Info:

1985 Toyota Land Cruiser, with professionally swapped Chevy 5.7 V8 Vortec Engine and 460L-E automatic transmission.
Modifications: 5.7 Chevy Vortec V8 engine, with 460L-E automatic transmission professionally swapped and installed by a well known Toyota Specialty Shop in Colorado. ECM on engine has been re-programmed to eliminate 2nd O2 sensor and EGR.
Body: All original, Southern vehicle originally bought and spent it's entire life in Alabama before I transported it to Utah. I am the second owner. Body is straight, rust free and has no repairs. It is the straightest, most original rust free FJ-60 I've owned out of 10.Brand new OME Bull Bar Winch Bumper. All original glass in good shape. Windshield is the orginal Toyota glass, and does have some chips, dings and general "sand blasting" but is all original.
Paint: The paint is the original Toyota Champagne Bronze paint and is sun baked and faded with clear coat also baked. I've held off on painting initially to decide if I wanted to go back original or change the color, and now that I have it for sale to give the new owner the same option.
Interior: All original. Front and rear seats are in good shape with no tears, rips etc. Carpet is original and is faded. Replacement would be a good option and rear cargo carpet was removed due to being too dirty to use. The dash is original and has a few cracks. The headliner is in great shape. Door panels are also in great shape. The original shifter has been replaced with a lokar custom automatic shifter. This is a non smoking vehicle with no odors or smells of smoke or anything unusual. Non original Pioneer casette player straight from 1985.
Engine: Chevy 5.7 V8 Vortec with reflashed ECM to eliminate need for 2nd O2 sensor and EGR. Engine has approx 152K on it and runs well. All ECM, engine, air cleaner and related mounting and positioning are professionally, securely down with multiple "small parts" such as connectors, wires, etc. New radiator with custom made fan shroud to ensure proper cooling. Engine Oil pressure and coolant temp are adapted into stock toyota interior gauges and function properly. AC compressor is new. New air, and oil filters, new plugs, cap, wires, belts and hoses.
Drive train: 460L-E transmission with approx 152k miles and shift kit, adapted to a rebuilt toyota stock 2spd transfer case, fully rebuilt using Koyo parts and bearings. Adapted via Advance adapters set up and mounted using Factory FJ-62 frame and cross member mounting, re-positioned to look factory and function properly. Drive shafts are custom made and balanced. Stock front and rear end gears in diffs.
Exhaust: Stainless Steel "short" heads mated into 2 into one "high tucked" 3.5 inch brand new exhaust system with tubo muffler. Mounted correctly for clearance and to avoid off-road damage.
Fuel System: Toyota FJ-62 Fuel tank with tank mounted electric fuel pump, baffled to be reliable and function-able off road, properly supplying cooled and protected fuel pump/fuel to the V8 engine.
Suspension, Tires and Brakes: Old Man Emu suspension system and front shackle reversal. 2.5" OME Dakar Springs front and rear with matching OME shocks, shackles and spring bushings. Front spring shackle reversal provides better on road tracking. Front steering knuckles and burrfield universal joints and all bearings and seals rebuilt with koyo bearings. New brake pads front and rear with extended stainless steel brake lines. Brand new (less than 100 miles) BFG K20 Mud Terrain tires, 33x10.5 on stock toyota rims and includes brand new BFG full size 33x10.5 spare mounted underneath.
Driving, riding, handling offroad: It drives much better than your average solid axle, 35 year old lifted vehicle by far, thanks to the tapered OME springs that ride on the road better and are more offroad capable and pliable. It tracks much better due to the front shackle reversal and run, rides and handles very well for the vehicle type overall. More than capable offroad from light terrain to more challenging, although I've never put it into rough situations.
What I think it needs: It's owner dependent, but mechanically it's turn key as it sets for whatever you want to do with it on, or off road. For more off roading, I'd say a rear off-road bumper with a tire mount to move the spare from underneath. A winch in the ARB front bumper for extra insurance if needed. Cosmetically, new paint if one desired, probably a new windshield and new carpet. This build is literally just out of the shop and I've had it in the garage.
Why am I selling: I have 2 other FJ-60s I'm working on, and several other toyota's. This one is almost "too nice" body wise and is a very solid platform for someone who wants to chose what paint color they like, paint it, ad a rack or what suits them and tool around in it as a very capable, very reliable collector 4x4 with a modern reliable drive train and suspension. She's 100% mechanically professionally done (have documentation as well of all work) and 95% cosmetically done with just paint required over a 100% unmolested, non-rusted body.
Terms and pick up: Buyer must ask all questions and have all requests in for more pictures, documentation, videos etc before purchasing. Your purchase is a binding agreement. You must pick up in person along with agreed upon balance in hand or arrange pre-payment that clears before sending a third party shipper to pick up. I live in a remote area of Utah, just West of Moab, and can provide a place to stay if you come pick it up, and millions of uninhabited acres for you to take it out on from dirt double track to more if you want to come pick her up and stay awhile. Given our current health crisis, I'll work with any buyer understanding common sense.
