Recent cosmetic restoration with superb results! All new paint, interior, powder coated wheels with five new tires, weather stripping, body hardware, and more! Excellent mechanical foundation with great road manners, along with an upgraded aluminum radiator for better cooling! Ready for the summer!
The Toyota FJ Series was a very successful off-road vehicle sold virtually worldwide, but only in the North American market from 1960 through 1983. Only slight revisions were made to these trucks over the years make them hard to distinguish from year to year, also making parts availability readily available to off-road enthusiasts and restorers today. Exceptionally fun to drive with solid ground footing, comfortable seating, torquey 6-cylinder engines that provide ample power & fuel economy, along with the legendary Toyota reliability! It’s hard not to want one in your collection parked at the weekend getaway home!
We are pleased to offer this 1973 Toyota FJ40 Land Cruiser refinished in its factory appointed color of Freeborn Red over new Gray vinyl seat upholstery. It continues to run wonderfully with it original F-Series 3.9L Straight 6 cylinder engine (#F431487), now fitted with a Rochester 2-Jet carburetor and exhaust header for a little extra performance. These engines were factory rated at 125 horsepower with 209 ft. lbs. of torque. Features and options include 3-speed manual transmission, power brakes, Warn locking front hubs, front & rear heaters, dual outside mirrors, folding rear jump seats, internal roll bar, and 15” steel wheels wrapped in brand new General Grabber AT2 all-terrain white letter tires measuring 31×10.5R15LT!
This very original truck was treated to a full cosmetic restoration that included new exterior paint, fresh weather stripping throughout, new running boards; new door, hood, & tailgate mounting hardware, new stainless steel hood & windshield hooks, hood rubbers, body emblems, power coated wheels with custom red & blue pin stripping, new interior seat upholstery & foams, interior floor covering, Tuffy Security locking center console with cup holders & hidden CD player, Pioneer 3-way speakers hidden behind the front seats, and more! Mechanically, it had new front suspension shackles & bushings recently installed, and a high-flow aluminum radiator for better cooling during the hot summer months. The results speak for themselves, and the drive qualities are rather excellent in our opinion. A very well cared for example showing limited use on original components like the foot pedals, dash board & trim, control knobs, etc. It should be a terrific investment for the collector looking for a strong up and coming collector vehicle in today’s marketplace! Please feel free to call with questions.
