1972 Toyota Land Cruiser FJ55 Additional Info:
1972 Toyota Land Cruiser FJ 55 4x4. This rig has been built for reliability and longevity. When I found this truck it had been sitting for years, so everything has been gone through or replaced. It was my goal to build a rig that could carry me to Alaska fly fishing and back without any concerns (and of course with no time frame as they aren't rocket ships!) Here is the list:
Completely rebuilt 2F 6 CylFront and Rear Axles rebuiltNew Hydraulic Clutch -Complete4 Wheel Disc Brake Conversion with dual reservoirDEI Electronic DistributorRacor Fuel/Water Seperator with 5 Micron FilterNew (Not Rebuilt) CarburetorCustom ExhaustRhino Lines Engine BayFresh paint Dune Beige with Bone White Top and HoodInterior was Rhino Lined in Dune Beige from the bottom of the windows downNew Offroad Performance Front SeatsOriginal Folding Rear Bench Seat5 NEW BFG Trail TA Tires wrapped around American Racing Outlaw Aluminum WheelsFusion Marine Grade 300W Waterproof Stereo and Speakers with BluetoothNew FJ40 Dash Pod with all new sending units and wiring (in other words all the gauges are new and work)
If you know the FJ 55 at all, you are aware of how challenging the original parts are to obtain. I have tracked down parts from Australia, Sri Lanka, South Africa, and in the US.
Here is what she still needs:Passanger side front interior door handleRear window glass (Track, mechanism, and power window all in place)Tailgate handle onlyWiper Motor
As I said in the beginning it was never my intention to sell this truck and I had been preparing for an overland trip along most of the PanAmerican Highway. A recent death in my family has caused my direction to change and for now I need to put that dream on hold.
I HAVE INVESTED OVER $35,000.00 IN THIS FJ55. For those of us who love them, its a small price to pay. However because they haven't gained the cult following the the 40 and 60 have enjoyed, I am realistic about the value and price point I expect to get. It's priced to sell and I am motivated to do so, make an offer....good luck and thanks for looking.
