1981 Toyota Land Cruiser PC11 Additional Info:

Please note the VIN for this FJ45 is FJ45-297564 and is not recognizable by eBay.
I jumped on the opportunity to purchase and import this barn find in 2015. The car was in excellent shape overall due to the arid conditions it lived in, the low mileage, and the fact that it was parked in a warehouse for years as a prior owner needed AC (not an easy job by any means) and no local shops could source and install one for him. This particular FJ45 also excited me as its the only one I have ever seen with the rear jack gear on the end of the bed to lower the spare.
Once imported, the car received a complete cosmetic and mechanical restore with Toyota OEM NOS parts sourced from all over the world. All work was done at a local Toyota dealer (receipts available at a cost of over $7k for labor alone). The aim was to restore this tank to be usable on a daily basis while retaining the stock ride and indestructible feel Toyota intended for this car. The car has handled monsoon-level rains, snow, and sand without a single hiccup. It dependably cruises at 65-70mph on the highway. The ignition system brings the car to life easily at the turn of the key.
OEM highlights include:
  • Repainted in Toyota Bellatrix Yellow

Please text or call at 617-669-3753 with any questions or to view the car around Boston. I also have hundreds of pictures of the restoration work over the past year and a half that i can send if anyone is interested. If you are looking for a '45 you can use, this is it and you wont be disappointed when you see it. I would love to keep it but I am moving into something that I can enjoy with my kids (LJ70) and cant keep both.
The car has more character than anything I have ever driven and is comfortable with anything you throw at it. Its simplicity and fantastic engineering also means it can be enjoyed and maintained easily indefinitely.

To answer some questions I have received:

  • Stereo in glovebox and speakers behind seats are held in place using strong magnets. They can be easily removed without leaving a trace.
  • Jerry can in bed can also be removed at buyer's interest.
  • No leaks of any kind
