1974 Toyota Celica Additional Info:
Up for sale is my 1974 Toyota Celica ITB race car. I drive the car around 3 times a week and have made it a fun street car. The car is entirely rust free and fully sorted. It has a clean title and is registered for the street (has working headlights, turn signals, electric radiator fan and a street performance Magnaflow muffler ). This car would make an excellent ITB race car, track day car, weekend canyon carver or a or can be taken into vintage racing.
This car ran in the SCCA ITB class throughout the mid to late 90's and early 00's in the San Francisco region. It was a competitive car and consistently ran in the upper field, with its best finish in 4th place. It last raced in 2006, was stored properly indoors,. It has both NASA and SCCA logbooks, and I have many race result sheets for the car.
First generation Celica's are rare to find as is, and this is probably the only first generation Celica race car to have raced on the West Coast in SCCA road racing. It was built, raced and maintained by a master mechanic instructor, who headed the fabrication and setup of the car per SCCA IT rules. I have almost all the receipts for the parts on the car, for easy servicing and repair.. The engine and drive train are in top shape, with no strange noises, clunks, whines or whirring.
It runs a 20R IT spec engine (tuned for 91 octane) with a Weber 32/36 downdraft carburetor, slightly upped compression, an Elgin IT spec cam, custom large capacity racing oil pan, pacesetter exhaust manifold into a Magnaflow muffler, large OE Volvo radiator and an external oil cooler. Transmission is a smooth shifting 5 speed unit, and the welded rear has a 4.10 gear set (3.9 ready to swap unit included). Starts right up, idles smooth, doesn't overheat, and the power train / drive train make no strange noises.
IT suspension, consisting of adjustable front coilovers (Ground Control), front adjustable camber plates, strut bar, large front ADDCO 1" custom front anti-roll bar, adjustable rear ADDCO anti-roll bar (both heim jointed), uprated rear springs/shocks (shocks are Tokico), and Prothane urethane bushings throughout. Custom double brake ducting in the front, with Hawk racing pads and Porterfield carbon kevlar shoes in the rear. Brake bias is adjustable from the cockpit. Stainless brake lines. The wheels are Watanabe 13x7's on brand new Toyo R888 tires.
Interior has a full cage with boxed ends. Driver door is gutted, while the passenger retains the stock door card and window and both rear quarter cards are present (as per IT rules). Corbeau race seats . Gauges consist of oil pressure, water temperature, A/F meter, tachometer with shift light, and an oil pressure warning light. Kill switch is on the driver's side with an interior switch panel and fuse panel for all accessories. I also have the custom wiring diagram for the car for easy repair/servicing. The MOMO steering wheel is new,
The car comes with the spare welded 3.9 swap in differential, a spare driver's door with glass, and a bin of spare parts all that is left for a crazy street car is paint. Which I might do if I don't find what I am looking for.
