1977 Toyota Land Cruiser Base Sport Utility 2-Door Additional Info:
Here we have a pretty decent '77 FJ40. Good foundation for a restore project or just keep driving. The VIN tag on the passenger fender and body tag on drivers door frame match the number on the frame. FYI, the last 3 digits of the frame number were obscured when someone welded the front bumper to the frame. You can only see "FJ40248". The body and frame are nice and solid, no crazy rust cancer like a lot of these have. There are some minor holes/thin spots in the floor and the door edges, possible bondo around the tub . Runs and drives as is but there is plenty of work to do. Currently registered with a valid Texas inspection sticker and clean Texas title. The soft top is a well made reproduction that looks just about perfect on an FJ40. Ready for off-road with 31" tires, warn locking hubs and hi-lift jack on an original spare tire carrier. Lights/horn/turn signals and wipers (except sprayer) are working. Front heater is there but not working. Probably going to need a head gasket, it looks like there is some oil in the coolant (doesn't seem to be any coolant in the oil though). You can see in the pics that someone cut out the middle frame support. I don't see any frame cracks so it's just a matter of welding in a new support. I Really like this FJ but I'm just not using it much. Check out all the photos and if you have any questions just let me know.
