1985 Toyota Celica Additional Info:
Very rare and hard to find 1985 Toyota Corolla GT for sale. This rear-wheel drive sports car- '85 was the last Celica year with the rwd- boasts an amazingly low 74k original miles! This vehicle was recently part of an estate sale and the owner's son decided to sell due to already owning enough vehicles.
Here's more about the car- it contains the legendary 4 cylinder 2.4 liter (22re) engine. It has an automatic transmission (conversion to manual transmission is an option for enthusiasts) and it runs and drives great. This Celica yields good steady power on its gas-sipping engine and the transmission shifts properly and smoothly. Drives well with no vibrations even at higher speeds. Will need an alignment and including struts if you wish to install. Ice cold a/c, sliding electric sunroof, electronic overdrive, flip-up headlights (they work excellent) and manual roll-up/down windows. It also has front and rear defrost, am/fm radio (factory), good tire tread and included is the original owner's manual. All electrical items work fine except the driver's side mirror. It's getting power but not moving the mirror. I move it manually when I need to.
This Celica GT is extremely clean for its age. The original owner Ziebarted underneath so the undercarriage is in good shape with just some of the rocker panel areas having rust. I'm taking several pics of this for the next owner's knowledge. The body itself is in overall good shape with limited dings and light scratches. There are a few areas evidencing light paint bubbling only in certain areas (view the pics). You'll see that the overall presentation of this Celica is very good. The most damage is on the hatch where it appears a garage door lowered down on the top back end of the hatch-- it's creased just above where the license plate is located. I'm showing several pics of this and it doesn't prevent the hatch from opening or closing. This area could possibly be improved or if the next owner wishes he/she could replace it with another hatch.
The interior is a little shy of being in excellent condition for its age. No smoke or other odors and the seats and dash look fresh and clean. The appearance and color combo of the seats and dash in contrast with each other is quite striking and attractive. This being said there are a few minor blemishes- one small tear on the driver's seat side (see pic) and the headliner has a few small blemishes but, again, the overall presentation is very good.
To summarize, this '85 Celica will be a very sharp vehicle (and a conversation piece) for its next owner. Rarely do we see these models on the road anymore, let alone in this overall kind of condition. Feel free to call or E-mail with any questions or to schedule a time to see and test drive it.
