1941 Studebaker Champion Additional Info:
i have for sale a 1941 studebaker champion. mostly original. i bought it last fall, the previous owner had not done much to it after it came out of paint shop. i put all the glass back in the car with new u channels, whisker strips, new windshield and rubber, new curved back glass with rubber ( the original glass was laminated and cracked, the new one is tempter) only curve glass in the car. now the side glass, 1 vent glass has a crack at the bottom and 1 quarter glass has a crack at the bottom. All new door hood trunk cowl seals weatherstripping. It has a new wiring harness in it with blinkers and emergency flashers, i kept it 6 volts since the starter and generators was still good. all new 6 volt bulbs. all new brakes, the paint color is off of a new dodge challenger, i put the orange pin strip on there to see how it would look. ( its a cheap pin strip it can be took off easy). the paint is a driver quality. the old car runs and drives good, BUT it is only like a 45 top 55 mph car. remember this is a 41 year model and low gear rear. It does have a open driveshaft, studebaker was ahead on things like that. the old body is pretty solid for it age, there is a couple of rust spots on the bottom side of both doors and there is a crack on the bottom of the outside trunk, as you will see pics of these places. the vacuum wiper motor is still under the dash but no control going to it. the heater is in the trunk, All the side trim was missing and front bumper, so the previous owner filled the holes and eliminated the front bumper and emblems to give it a clean look. I was going to put some aluminum wheels on it, and take it to a few shows, but this virus has cancelled all the shows around here. IT is missing the trunk latch assemble, i do have the handle for it. the original gas gauge and temp gauge does not work in the dash. it does have a new gas tank and sending unit. with a after market gas gauge under the gas ( which just quit working) thanks for looking please feel free to email or ask questions. i will post more pics tonight.the floor pans are nice, the interior was probably redone years ago, the seats are ok, the door panels was shot, i went to lowes and cut new door, quarter and kickpanels out of that 1/8 brown board.the interior is ready to take to next level or drive it like it is. Or you could drop in a late model engine and trans and go that route. i feel like my reserve (6300.00) is set low enough for a car in this condition to be able to spend more on it and make a really super nice car out of it. Do dont see these cars like this anymore, even has the 41 willys look on the front end.
