You are bidding on a 1955 Studebaker President 2 door hardtop.
This car was restored in 2003 at 81,870 miles, stated by owner as correct. The car current shows 82,390 miles. The car was from Arizona, where the previous collector/owner from Texas purchased it. The original 259 V8 engine was rebuilt and all mechanicals where gone through at that time. All chrome and stainless were removed and restored to show quality. The car was repainted black and is good driver quality, with some areas showing wear, due to door and trunk lid alignment (corrected). A complete new interior, new wiring and an upgrade to a 12 volt alternator were also done.
Speedster wheel covers and fog lights complete the overall upgrades performed.
The car has a 3 speed w/overdrive, 4 barrel carb and throaty dual exhausts. It runs smooth, straight and powerfully and brakes as it should. Overall,this dry, southwest example is a very clean, straight and well executed driver restoration and a candidate for upgraded paint down the road to elevated it to show.
