For sale is a 1953 Studebaker 2R5 pickup. This pickup isunique piece of Nebraska history. On June 3, 1980 a F4 tornadohit the city of Grand Island, NE, killing 5 people andinjuring hundreds. In additionhundreds of homes and businesses were leveled in by this tragic tornado. A novel was later written, and then a move made about this storm, both titled "The Night of The Twisters" This Stude was parked in a garageattachedto a house that wascompletelydestroyed bythe tornado. According to theprevious owner, the houseand garage were blown away and the Stude was the only thing that was left.The hood, top, cab and fenders allhave dents in them from the storm.Luckilythe pickup was nottotaled and still has a clean original title. The pickup has a Chevy 350, TH350, and a 10 bolt rear end out of a 73 Impala. It was lastlicensed in 1990 and the motor isstuck.There is rust right in front ofthe drivers door, floorboards, rear fenders, and bed. The cab corners are actually pretty good.This pickup would make a really cool rat rod that has all the V8 transplant hard work done, and has a very cool story to go with it! Once again this pickup has a clean and transferable title.
