We will start with the exterior of this GT500. The body on it is in phenomenal condition as the body lines flow seamlessly from front to back. It has an excellent fit of the doors, hood, and trunk. All the gaps also look amazing, and you'll notice the body is straight down the sides. It's showcased in the Highland Green paint which is the factory option for it. The Highland green was redone in base coast clear and is accented by the White Stripes. This Shelby has all the original Carlite glass in it which is a testament to how well it's been cared for over the years. The front and rear bumpers have a beautiful finish, and the rest of the trim and stainless is very nice, some of which are original. To finish off the exterior it's sitting on a set of Shelby America Cobra 10 Spoke 15" Wheels with a new set of Goodyear 350 E70/15 Tires.
Next, we will look at the interior of this '68. On the inside, it's done in the Saddle Deluxe interior which provides a beautiful compliment to the exterior. It comes with bucket seats and console that houses the Automatic Shifter. It has the correct Shelby seat belts that are black. The door panels are in excellent condition and have the working interior lights down low, and it is equipped with the driver remote mirror. This Shelby does have the fold-down rear seat option, and we can see that the carpet and cover is excellent. The front buckets are equally nice, and the front carpet has a great fit. Looking at the dash the first thing you notice is that this car has been signed by Carrol Shelby. We can also see it's equipped with the Tilt-Away Column and the factory Woodgrain wheels with the Shelby Horn panel. The rest of the dash also has woodgrain accents, and all gauges are working as they should. Inside the trunk, we can see that all the metal is rock solid. It's detailed out with the factory-style trunk mat along with having the spare and jack.
Finally, we will get to the driveline of this Shelby. Under the hood we can see that everything is just as nice as the exterior and interior of this GT500. The metal looks phenomenal and the eye to detail is evident throughout. This '68 is powered by the original 428 V8 engine that has been date coded with the 7L13 casting code. It's setup with the original C8AE-H heads with 8A22 & 8A24 dates. It also comes with the original C7AE9425 F Intake and Original Holley C8ZX 9510 A List 4129 Carb. It's dressed in the original valve covers and air cleaner with a new element. This Shelby is set up with Power Steering and Power Brakes with Disc on the front. It's also set up with Factory Air Conditioning that is currently being serviced to ensure it's working properly. At the time of the restoration, all new brake lines and fuel lines were run and we can see that the gas tank is in excellent condition. The original 428 V8 engine runs through the original C6 Transmission with the original tail shaft and original 9" Rear end with the WES-U 3.50 Gears and 8AD date code. When we look under this Shelby you are sure to be impressed as they did a phenomenal job with the restoration. Everything was removed before prepping the floors for the correct red oxide paint. They even took the time to do the correct Highland Green over-spray. All new bushings have been installed in the front end along with all new bushings out back. It also has a new set of KONI shocks. For exhaust, it has the correct manifolds with all new dual pipes with H pipes and new mufflers with the correct tips exiting out the rear. On the highway, it runs out great and handles like a new 68 Shelby GT500 with all the new bushings and ball joints. If you're in the market for a real deal Shelby GT500 with matching numbers driveline with a beautiful restoration then you better not miss this one!. .
