1969 Saab Sonett Additional Info:
Rare opportunity to purchase this unique 1969 Sonett in survivor condition! Appears to be mostlyoriginal paint and interior which are nice, but not perfect with theirusual flaws (i.e. tears hear and there and a few chips and scratches, etc.). This is a fantastic running car withboth ownershipand comprehensive maintenance history, original ownership manual and Saab Service Booklet from dealer. A southern car most of its life, it was purchased new by a University of Virginia professor who owned it long-term into the mid to late 1990s. He kept allservice records since new! The car was then sold to his saab mechanic for his son as this Saab mechanic apparently serviced the car from day one. The last owner is believed to be the third owner who did some minor metal work to the front passenger section of the pan to repair rust from the drip section of the hood; typical of these cars. The entire pan is in excellent shape and the car maintains its originalPirelli Cinturato spare. Mechanically, wiring work wasrecently done to sort out typicalgremlins, the fuel sending unit rebuilt, and new updated Hella H4 headlights with new wiring harness installed to replace the original Lucas #2 bulbs. The carb has been updated to a Weber, a Pertronix ignition added forreliability, and the the tires are all new in the correct size (155/15) on theoriginal rimswith original Saab caps. Door weatherstripping is all new. All gauges work with the exception of a pesky fuel gauge, and odometer. The original Veglia clock is included (for repair) and a nice functioning Saab clock is installed in its stead. This car is an absolute joy to drive having been well cared for most of its life! It runs out smooth and strong and maintains its original Arva rear glass. The exhaust has been replaced by a straight back pipe with muffler and sounds great! Presenting as Chassis #1818, this Sonett was nearingthe last of the what's known as the Sonett II and V4 run (1966-1969) and is an ultra rare and striking car. Theydon't come up for sale often, particularly insurvivor condition. I reservetheright to end the auction early. Thanks for looking and good luck bidding!
