This is a wonderful, original 1974 Saab Sonett III. It has one of the best original interiors I’ve seen in any Sonett. It also appears to have 95% original paint and an extremely rare factory or dealer-installed sunroof. The current odometer reading is 69,126 which I believe could be the original mileage. The title also indicates that it is accurate mileage. This is an unrestored car and might be a good preservation class candidate. It isn’t perfect, but it is in incredible condition for a 45 year-old car.
MECHANICAL / ELECTRICAL: This car runs and drives very well. The engine starts quickly and is smooth and responsive. The transmission shifts easily through all the gears. The gauges, lights, wipers, and electrical systems are in good working order. The headlights function perfectly -- they come on automatically when you pull the lever to raise them and they open and close smoothly. The tires have plenty of tread but I am not sure how old they are. The heat and defroster also function well. The original radio comes on with clear sound and the push buttons work, but the tuner knob no longer works and will need repair.
INTERIOR / GLASS: The original interior is in simply remarkable condition. The windshield has a small crack near the top edge on the passenger side. A very good original replacement windshield is included with the car, along with a new rubber seal and locking strip (as shown in the last picture.) I have attempted to keep the car as original as possible, so I refrained from installing the replacement windshield. The door windows roll up and down like they are brand-new.
BODY / PAINT: I believe the paint is approximately 95% original. It looks like the black areas on the hood and the rear panel have been repainted. There is a small area on the front edge of the right front fender that looks like it had a minor paint repair, and there are some touch-ups in various places. The original fiberglass bonding strips in the body are still untouched and visible (I’m not a Sonett expert, but I was told by a Saab enthusiast that the bonding strips should be apparent on an original car.) The doors open and close wonderfully. The bumpers are in very good condition with only minor flaws for their age.
TITLE TRANSFER AND PAPERWORK: I am a long-time classic car hobbyist and a licensed Florida car dealer (Classic Investment Motorcars Inc.) This means that you must complete the sales and title transfer forms with me, which can be done in person or through the mail.
DOCUMENTATION FEE: We charge a flat fee of $100 on all vehicle purchases to cover postage, preparing paperwork and forms, and other dealer costs. This fee cannot be waived and applies regardless of whether you are an individual or a dealer.
SALES TAX: If you live in Florida or are picking up the car in Florida we must collect the applicable sales tax and tag/title fees. If the vehicle is shipped out of Florida by common carrier I do not collect the sales tax (you will take care of that where you live.)
DEPOSIT AND PAYMENT: A $500 non-refundable PayPal deposit is due within 24 hours of the end of the auction. The balance must be paid by cash, cashier’s check, or wire transfer within seven days of the end of the auction. All cashier’s checks must clear my bank before the vehicle can be released. If the winning bidder fails to pay in accordance with these requirements, I may, at my option, make second-chance offers or re-list/remarket the vehicle and the deposit will be forfeited by the bidder.
SHIPPING: Arranging and paying for shipping is the responsibility of the winning bidder. We will always do our best to cooperate with your shipping company, be it domestic or international. We may also be able to help you arrange shipping at a very good rate, but the responsibility will remain with you.

I received a question about the free wheel drive system. Yes, the free wheeling works and the knob and cable are operational. When you are driving and take your foot off the gas pedal the car coasts freely as if you had pushed in the clutch pedal.
