This is an ex-brochure and multiple award-winning car well known in the Rolls-Royce circle and is of true museum quality and investment grade condition.
This is a stunningly original presenting Silver Shadow Long Wheel Base (“LWB”) sedan finished in rarely seen Coffee Bean Brown. It has a single hand-painted fine line in tan to the waist-rails and hubcap beauty trim rings. The interior is finished in Champagne (beige/light tan) Connolly leather with matching Wilton wool carpets.
This LWB Silver Shadow is the actual car featured in the “Shouldn’t your second car be a Rolls-Royce?” advert of 1973.
This LWB sedan was the personal car of esteemed and well-known Rolls-Royce restorer, Mr Simon Curzon, the owner and operator of Zenith Motor Cars of Missouri whose work in any classic Rolls-Royce, especially Silver Cloud, ranks amongst the best in the world. Many, not just a few, of Mr Curzon’s cars have won multiple awards within the RROC to include Best in Class and Best in Show. This Silver Shadow was pampered in the same manner that Zenith Motors does with all its cars and, as such, has not only won these awards on first submission but the Royce Memorial award. This is achievement is considered a “Triple Crown” which, we believe, is the first and only time this has happened with a Silver Shadow in the history of the RROC. This coveted award status says almost everything one needs to know about the quality and condition of this motorcar.
An amazing aspect of this Silver Shadow is she is cosmetically, pretty much factory original in every respect. Most of the paint is original and what you see is in incredible condition. To explain; many “all original paint” cars also carry notable imperfections from years of polishing (thin paint) and then the ever-so-typical “lead wiping cracks” at the major body panel joints (A & C pillars and front head light upper brows). These are accepted as a “fact of life” when it comes to Rolls-Royce motor cars built in the 60s through to late 70s. That said, with this example, it is truly amazing how well the paint has held up. Yes, there are imperfections but ever so minimal considering what is typical. The only paint that has been done to her, we believe, was factory post-manufacture touch-up or possible dealer repair on the 2 rear quarters/doors. This is evidenced in the car's build-sheets. You can see in the photos a slight mis-match. Given the originality of the car and its history, we do NOT recommend repainting. We can do so for you, and in a way that you will not “pick it” but we highly recommend keeping her as-is. Rest assured, whatever is your preference, the paint presents beautifully, as does the whole exterior.
And, it doesn't stop there. The entire interior is also in equally beautiful condition. The Champagne Vaumol hides, unique to Connolly and Rolls-Royce of the era, is entirely factory original, is perfectly patina'd and rest assured, supple soft!
The rest of the interior is equally beautiful. Excellent head-liner with carpets like new including those in the boot. Look at the photos of underneath the boot carpet and you will appreciate just how clean this car is. The African burl walnut wood throughout the interior is excellent. And, with the beauty of only the best of burl walnut, the grain in this Silver Shadow displays a very intense grain and colour. From rich yellow ochres to rich reds and browns. It is truly stunning.
Door panels, interior chrome work, gauges and instruments are all in very fine condition.
Mechanically, the car is absolutely outstanding. Under the care of Mr Curzon, everything needing doing has been done and maintained rigorously, with all the hydraulics/braking system reviewed and working well and as it should. Have a look at the picture of how perfect the engine bay presents. The engine truly purrs and gear-change is smooth and quiet. The car is very spritely in power which is a good sign of a well cared for and good condition motor. And the underside, besides being entirely rust and scale free is like that of a 5 year old example (pix included), with various many mechanical items cleaned, detailed, refinished, replated, powder-coated and/or replaced to show-standard. Absolutely and simply stunning!
The odometer reads 23,000 miles and although not verifiable, the car is unquestionably a low mileage example and we have no reason to doubt its accuracy. Tyres are near new Avon 235/70-15 whitewalls (the tyre of choice for Rolls-Royce), with the hubcaps straight and the stainless steel shiny. As you would expect, it comes with correct jack, tool kit and owner's manual.
A/C blows ice cold and the heater works well. Electricals have all been serviced so windows, seats and features & functions work as they should. All interior and exterior lighting has been checked with all bulbs and lamps operating correctly.
Notwithstanding the car’s meticulous maintenance, please remember all cars sold by Park-Ward Motors undergo our Predelivery Commissioning process and so the car is guaranteed to have every major and minor service done with all features and functions in full operational condition upon delivery.
Please make no mistake, this is an Investment Grade Rolls-Royce Silver Shadow that would be amongst the top 10% of the finest, chrome bumper Silver Shadows available on the market. It best suits a collector or enthusiast who wants a super original example in top condition.

For those who are new to my adverts and/or the marque, please note that as a serious collector of some 40 years, all my cars are truly described examples. I have my own private Rolls-Royce workshop of some 25,000 sqft with trained Rolls-Royce craftsmen who are proficient in all aspects. As a team, we are dedicated to the preservation of the marque and as such, any car that leaves the stable is completely inspected and work-shopped to ensure mechanical and operational items are maintained appropriately. This process is known as “Predelivery Commissioning”. This is a process that ensures all major and minor services are done and any maintenance the car needs is attended to. This is not just limited to mechanical items bit operational items and features as well, such as AC, heating, electric windows, seats etc. The Predelivery Commissioning process occurs once a car is sold and can take a few weeks. We ask you be patient but it’s all for the benefit of you as the new caretaker.
We adopt a “keep it original” mentality with pride and confidence, offering after sales technical support and assistance well beyond the sale. Because most of my cars are offered for the pleasures of driving enjoyment it is not always possible or practical to seek perfection (in the true sense of the word) but we do always uphold excellence in whatever we do. When our Rolls-Royces are commissioned for resale, they are indeed professionally and correctly fully work-shopped through a process called “Predelivery Commissioning”. No corners are cut. And it is all addressed in true Crewetradition. There is way too much to list here but to give you an example of our commitment to excellence ofthe various processes, this is one such example of what we do:
Doors and windows:-
Every car has its interior door panels removed. If the wood is in need of repair (as many do) it is refinished in-house by trained and talented craftsmen at Park-Ward Motors. This is a detailed process of stripping the wood of its old lacquer, repairing the veneer if there is damage, staining the top surface as per Rolls-Royce methodology and refinishing with no less than 25 coats of clear lacquer. Hand wet-sanded and polished between all of its last 15 coats. New window felt guides and wood-to-glass foam seals are fitted. All window mechanisms are checked and serviced for smooth and efficient up and down movement. This sometimes includes an electrical modification to rectify the typical “slow window syndrome”. All tracks, chains and gears are lubricated. Where central locking is fitted, these are all serviced to ensure no “solenoid sticking”, another common problem. Units are repaired and or changed as required for refurbished units. Door wiring and door-to-body wiring is checked, repaired and/or replaced as required. The splash plastic on the inside of the doors to protect the leather panels from rain splash from inside the door is replaced with correct specification black plastic as used by the factory. Cut to shape and glued in position as per original. All door hardware is checked and repaired as required including locks, handles and scuttle finishes. The door is reassembled with all items cleaned and polished. The wood refitted and the leather panels are re-Connollised before final fitment.
Take this example and apply it to the many, many different aspects of Rolls-Royce restoration, service and maintenance and you have our dedication to correct and professional vehicle pre-delivery preparation and commissioning.

This Rolls-Royce is part of a private collection of the Park-Ward Motors Museum. Although licensed and bonded, I am not a main-stream retail car dealer or broker; I am a professional car collector of some 45 years with considerable experience and knowledge of Rolls-Royce and Bentley Motor Cars. I have a long standing reputation being associated with the marque which I take seriously. I take pride in my cars and have fun in collecting and restoring them. However, auctions are not a game so when you place a bid or offer, and you are the winning bidder, please understand you have entered a binding contract. You cannot bid and win the auction and expect not to meet the terms and conditions. Bidding and/or winning does not mean you are expecting me to “hold” the car until you have the opportunity to inspect it. Any inspection contemplated must be undertaken BEFORE you bid or make an offer and I openly welcome any potential buyer to come and personally inspect the car. Please note, however, we do NOT allow 3rd party inspectors because history has sadly proven, they are not worth their weight in salt. As a collector and experienced restorer of the marque, I make every effort to bring my cars to a high standard, both before and after the sale. By comparison, my cars are generally far superior to others available but they are by no means perfect. You must expect some issues. Unless specifically stated, the car is not of show standard but of nice "driver" condition. Please understand, show cars of this model cost hundreds of thousands of dollars to achieve and sell for prices commensurate, so the sale price of this car reflects its relative condition. You are buying "condition" accordingly. Buyers should not expect to receive concours quality or "perfect" cars at these prices. Please also understand, the very nature of these classic Rolls-Royces is such that it is not always possible to attend to every item, or perhaps I may have inadvertently overlooked items. Further, and very importantly, these cars are classic cars also because they are old. So this means if a car is 45 years old, then it is predominantly comprised of 45 year old parts. And old parts will fail. All buyers must understand and expect that things can or will wear out, break and/or stop functioning without notice, even if we have inspected it. This is even more likely with hand-built English cars of early technology when compared to the typical American car of the same vintage. Please note, fitted radio/stereo systems are usually subject to upgrade by purchasers so I do not ensure operation of these. Similarly, cruise control systems fitted to these classics were of an inferior design and I do not check or warrant the operation of these. Suspension and brakes on these cars are complex. We thoroughly check them and replace things that are identified faulty. But please understand, by example; if we refurbish or replace a brake caliper because it appears aged or faulty, we do NOT at the same time refurbish or place all other brake calipers because they are of similar age. This is considered "preventative maintenance". We do not do this unless specifically requested and is not included in the purchase price. Feel free to ask for this additional service. Further, a feature or function that is working perfectly one moment, may decide to play-up the next. After all, it is several decades old. This is the nature of any classic car and especially a Rolls-Royce which was very "complicated" for its era. For this reason it is necessary for the following condition:

Rolls-Royce values vary wildly, entirely dependent on their condition. There are, of course, other aspects that add or subtract from their values – Long Wheel Base versus regular, the year which dictated certain technical changes, etc. The colour alone, for example can make a big difference.
