Held in the same ownership for almost two decades, it’s recently been updated with
-- New fuel system, including new OEM pump
-- New trim pieces such as bumper accordions, fuel filler gaskets and engine/exhaust trim
-- Fresh oil, air and fuel filters
-- Tuning checks on O2, timing and engine performance.
-- Starts, runs and idles like new
Less than 5,000 miles since the refreshed 3.0L (from a later 911sc) was installed by the (former) Motorsports Northwest Porsche specialty tuner in Boise, Idaho. Previous Owner had acquired car as a high-desert roller in Oregon and had sourced a fresh 3.0L 911sc engine from Portland. Swap was completed in Boise at Motorsports NW by P/O.
A repeat participant in regional vintage rally events such as the California Targa
Recently given a run-through by a master Porsche technician, the car is ready to be enjoyed.
Seller collects vintage European sports cars and has loved this 911, but is pivoting to concentrate on some old Alfa and Lancia rally cars. It’s fully prepped to move on to a new Porsche enthusiast.
Pros:
Desirable Sunroof Delete 911s, but with the advantages of a newer, better 3.0L over the stock 2.7L
Coming off a complete walk-through by a master tech and ready for the coming season.
Offered in Guards Red with a good condition (for age) interior in black
European suspension ride-height setting for great handling and looks
Freshly detailed and available immediately in Phoenix AZ area
Car has a desert state history and has been stored in a climate controlled garage for 20 years
Unusual for Pre-1980s US Spec Porsches, the undercarriage has only minor surface rust.
Fresh trim pieces, fuel system and shift bushings. Current service. Ready to Enjoy
Glass is in excellent shape, no cracks, chips nor star damage
Cons:
No AC. Came from factory as a non-AC car.
Paint is vintage and does hold some minor imperfections, although the detail work looks great. It is assumed a re-spray was done by prior owner and prep left some minor rippling (see pics). The underlying metal is in great shape and shows the desert ownership.
Due to the vintage rally usage, there are a few rock chips, bumper flecks and hatch edge wear.
New owner can evaluate touch-up versus re-paint options.
Car is currently rolling on ordinary street rubber at mature date code-- new owner can evaluate fresh tire compounds consistent with their usage
Battery tray had some minor corrosion which has been touched up.
Frunk carpet shows minor discoloration consistent with the age.
