1979 Porsche 928 Low Miles All Original

Up for your inspection is a nice, well-kept original Porsche 928 sunroof delete car with only 83K miles on it. Showing a factory original black on black color combination this is a very hard to find edition. This 3-owner car has had extensive mechanical maintenance and it shows. It runs good and drives straight down the road. This 928 has spent its entire life on the west coast and as such there in no rot, rust through, etc. A damage and accident free body compliments the original Porsche phone dial wheels. From the front moving back the original nose is in good condition and comes with the headlight washer/sprayers. The turn signals, headlights and driving lights work great. The headlight motors move up and down smoothly with no hesitation, noises or anything unsatisfactory. Opening the hood, the original Porsche engine has received much in the way of maintenance, repairs and upkeep. The engine appears to be leak free and runs good. It is completely stock never having any modifications. Since this is a sunroof delete car the roof is straight and in good condition. The driver and passenger doors are straight, damage free and open and close good. The rear of the car is also in great condition showing no body damage. The running lights, brake lights and turn signals all work as they should. Opening the rear hatch, you will see it operates smoothly, stays open and does not leak water. Moving to the inside of the car you will see the door panels are in good condition. The shiny black is beautiful on this car. The rear trim panels, the ceiling, visors, etc. are all in great condition as seen in the pics. They are all black. The rear seats are clean and damage free. The power front and passenger seats move smoothly with all power functions working for tilt, automatic front motion when tilted, however the leather is poor. They have custom Porsche fitted seat covers on them that look great. The steering wheel is original and in good condition. As a project the leather material was removed from the dash as seen in the pics to be recovered but this was never done. The dash structure is in great condition and ready for a recover. The black carpet is original and in good condition as is the original Porsche 928 floor mats.

Approximately 2 years ago this Porsche was taken out of a dry long-term storage and had many things done to it. It then was put back in storage to finish restoring the cosmetic items later. Recently (09-2017) the car was brought back out and went through a full inspection and received numerous maintenance services. The car starts right up, drives smoothly down the road and is a joy to drive. Don’t let this classic Porsche slip past you this is one to own for whatever plans you have for it. The following is any known issues or needs as of this writing per the inspection

The AC does not blow cold, and I had the belt removed. However, it is complete

The paint is in poor condition

The driver and passenger seat leather is in poor condition

The dash leather needs to be replaced

The headliner material is in excellent condition; however, the backer board has two very small (warped)spots about 2”

The radio is not stock, and it does not work

The paint has fading, nicks, chips, scratches, etc.

It is due for brake pads in the near future

The automatic shifter boot is missing a very small piece of plastic but easily replaced

The headlight washers are nonoperational, however it is complete

The tach and speedo are finicky. Sometimes they work, sometimes they do not. I was told it’s probably the connection

Please note that this Porsche is almost 40 years old. As such it is expected to have damages, flaws, etc. of any car this age. There can be electrical issues, cosmetic issues and mechanical issues. I have described everything that was noticed during its full inspection and numerous road tests. You are more than welcome to have this car inspected prior to auction ending.
