1984 Porsche 911 Additional Info:

ONE-OF-A-KIND, WORK-OF-ART PORSCHE 911 TARGA:
Up for auction is my beloved 1984 "Outlaw" Porsche 3.2 liter 911 Targa, which I fully restored, re-painted, and re-leathered in 2014-15. The car has been safely garaged and driven in Palm Beach County, Florida. I dreamed about building this car for myself since nine-months before I was born. You can Google news articles about this car...
VIN:WP0EB0916ES160987
I was actually going to do nine of these cars per year (see our Christopher911 site for more backstory, photos, and provenance). Then Singer + Magnus Walker + other Porsche restorers drove the cost of 911s through the roof –– and then COVID was launched –– so I went into commercial real estate instead.
My wife and I are also hoping for our first child this year, and she cannot drive a "stick shift," so sadly it's time to part with this beautiful looker and work-of-art, for another Cayenne or Macan, or maybe new Targa. BTW: This is NOT a G50 gearbox. It is a standard 912. Gears 1, 2, 3 and R were refurbished when the engine was out, clutch replaced, etc.
NO, you cannot "Buy it Now" for a lower price, so please do not ask : ) Place your bid, and pay attention to this auction for the next seven days, and all of your vintage Porsche 911 Targa dreams will come true.

To be clear: Only the body, interior, trim, and boot were embellished. All replacement parts and work "under the hood" are stock and from Porsche in Germany only –– mainly via Glenn Sager at Pelican Parts, who is a rock star! All other engine and body parts on the car "are matching" and original to the vehicle.
The car has never been raced, tracked, or driven hard. In Palm Beach, we rarely get out of second gear. The car has also never been in an accident. The title is clean / clear, and in our names since 2007 when I bought it. This 911 has also never broken down, blown a tire, or not started, thanks to my proactive love and routine servicing (and Bill Rice Motorsports in Palm Beach Gardens).
The Targa top was completely rebuilt by Dan Petchel at Cars, Inc. in New Jersey, one of the foremost air-cooled 911 experts, and it's still like new.

The car was painted by Porsche expert Jay Zerbst in Charleston, SC (Moncks Corner). All disassembly and reassembly were performed by Porsche experts European Road and Racing in Charleston, SC (brothers Karl and Martin Troy).
The interior was completely re-imagined by Avant-Garde design (Jeff Gardner) in Charleston, SC –– who now charges over $50,000+ for custom auto interiors here in the Stuart / Palm Beach area. As you can see, it's now two-tone and Aston Martin-like, yet following the exact Porsche factory stitching patterns as closely as possible.
The dash dials were all rebuilt and customized by Hartmut at Hollywood Speedometer in LA. The black plastic rear engine grill was replaced by a custom fabricated metal version (RennSport). The from and rear "accordion" rubber bumper sleeves were fabricated out of metal for a seamless, clean look. Orange and yellow signal light casings were replaced with red/clear.
The exhaust is also stock and original (and sounds great).
All silver parts, including the wheels, were powder coated –– as were all other black metal surface parts, handles, window frames, the Targa roll bar casing, etc., which gives the car a very unique, supple, and brighter, happier look.
The original 6- and 7-inch Fuchs wheels were sold, and replaced with 7- and 9-inch Fuchs wheels from a 1944 Turbo (951), and custom refinished as shown. The extra two and four "inches of tire rubber" both improve traction and give the car it's bulldog stance –– which is really cool. Momo steering wheel.
Huge detail: The two deleted electric windows were removed, and replaced by one original Talbot mirror from Germany, with its mount UV-cured into the side panel glass.
Warning: EVERYONE will stop and gawk at this car. People will ask to take pictures of the car. When you park, flippers will come and hound you to sell it to them. If you take it out to dinner, or to the Club, or to a Polo match, everyone will go wild...
Deleted are: The stereo system (NO radio or speakers or wiring remain), the windshield fluid tank (so NO hood squirts), both sun visors, both front and rear bumper rubber, and the 1980's interior were deleted. The front valance is custom, since the fog lights were also deleted. I used vintage 356 carpet instead. Critical: The seatbelts were never touched, modified, or removed.
There are a few very light scratches, tiny rock chips, and slight driver-seat wear from getting in and out after nine years since the remod. The car comes with a jar of the custom paint, a car cover, the original manual, and a fire extinguisher (never used). The AC and defrost work and blow air, yet the AC is not cold enough to rely on, especially in South Florida (it's a fair weather car).
All-in, I have about $100,000 into this 911 over time. It fetched approx $56,000 two years ago on Bring-A-Trailer –– with PCA purists and "not correct" fanatics blowing their gaskets : ) The car's history, details, and receipts / service history were fine, however the final bidder was "a flipper" and tried to renegotiate a lower price after the auction. No sale. So no "flippers" please, and no children paying with their parents' Ebay account. Serious owner-driver Porsche 911 Targa buyers only, please.
PS: We are Harvard and Princeton graduates, and very honest, by-the-book citizens with impeccable backgrounds –– and solid legal and banking skills.

May God have mercy on my soul for selling my beloved Sweet Child o' Mine...

UPDATE: Please excuse the bonehead VEHICLE INSURANCE PROTECTION being pitched unbeknownst to me in the middle of my Porsche photo gallery?! I have tried to delete it, but the robots / kiosk / computer algorithm that runs / controls Ebay will not enable me to delete it. Please excuse Ebay's un-welcomed intrusion into our relationship : )YES, I have 100s of additional photos, and two videos of the 911 whilst driving, so you can hear the engine, etc.

UPDATE: The volume of car ownerships reported is exaggerated because it changed hands on paper, from Martina Navratilova, to her agent (or visa versa), to a private owner who held it for many years, then to a dealer (whom I bought it from), then from me, to my company, then to my wife's company, for insurance and tax reasons.YES, I have clear title in our name, insured via USAA, with a thick folder of the work done by the Porsche experts mentioned above.NO, I will not sell this 911 outside of Ebay for a lowball price, so please don't bother asking.
