This Porsche is a Euro edition - meaning it was built for use in Europe, and imported to the States after the fact. This Porsche is very clean and has 157,882 km (98,103 miles) on it, and I’ve always garage parked it. The speedometer reads in Km/Hr! This can take a little getting used to so I have a small cheat-sheet on the speedo to convert kph to mph. These Porsche's are very rare and hard to find. Only 4,308 SC Targa's were produced in 1978. Porsche intended 1978 to be the last year of the 911 but sales were so strong they continued building them.
This car is perfect for cruising around with the top off this summer or taking to the track! The original Fuchs rims are in great shape and are wrapped in Yokohama tires. I also recently had the oil changed and replaced the battery. It has power windows, aftermarket radio, and the Dino racing steering wheel.
The steering is tight and the handling is great when going around turns. It shifts easily from gear to gear and the whir of the engine sounds perfect driving down the road. It is exactly what you expect from an air cooled flat 6 Porsche.
There are some defects on the car. There is some chipped paint on the windshield support and the underside of the front bumper could use a respray. There is also a small amount of rust on the underside edge of the rear hood. This can easily be cleaned up by a novice body guy. There is also a tear in the front driver sear; new seat covers can be had for several hundred dollars. And the seal around the roll bar could be replaced. Please see the pictures for the defects. I’ve done my best to accurately depict this car in the best way possible. Please keep in mind this is a 38 year old car!
Included with the Porsche are the original accessories: owner’s manual, toolkit, spare tire with the pump, first aid kit, and road safety triangles! I'll also include a Haynes manual.
