The car is a running driving car with decent 20 ft paint job done approx 10 years ago.Runs and drives, Passed California Smog Certification last week.I will go over the good as well as the need to address (bad) although I would not call it all that bad.
Runs and drives decent. it is a 37 year old car it depending on your preference you could do a refresh on engine/suspension or just take it out on the weekend to a car show as is.
Engine runs, cold start runs a little rough (typical), but once warm smooths out and runs nice. A little grimy on the engine, could use a detail. No oil leaks on the ground underneath.
Manual Steering cold is a little stiff at first, get it going down the road and the steering loosens up. Could use alignment. Has a LeCarra wood steering wheel.
Cooling system, seems to work fine, fan kicks on and runs at the appropriate temperature.
Manual 5 Speed transmission, smooth shifts, goes through all 5 gears and reverse smooth. Shift linkage could use some tightening up. Has a aftermarket shift knob.
Battery is new in November. I keep it on a trickle charger as it does get a draw down after a few days or so then needs to be jumped or charged. Maybe something in the lighting/wiring.All lights work, head lights, fogs lights, brake lights, turn signals, flashers when checked.
Wheels are Turbo Twists staggered 17" with 9" in the front and 10" in the back. Tires are in great shape with lots of life in them. At least 60% I would estimate.
Body and Paint Job was done approx. 10+ years ago, car had stripes so you can still see the faint ghost stripes and sunroof had some paint peal off so that was resprayed and clear coated recently to match as close as possible. Sunroof goes in nice and easy. Around the car, paint has a few nicks but from 20 feet looks good. Some small scrapes along the front air dam. And a previous owner kinked the front right fender with the car jack in the wrong spot behind right front wheel. Not a huge deal, most people won't even realize it.
I have checked out the car and no rust that I can see or point out. It has been a California car its whole life according toautocheck which came back with an above avg. score.
Glass all in good shape, Front has no rear view mirror, both power mirrors work, power windows work. rear hatch just replaced rear struts, has tinted windows all around.
Gauges, Speedometer is not working and odometer as stopped at 14000+, I would estimate the car has at least est. 149,000+ miles based on autocheck. Tach works, fuel gauge works, as do most of the other gauges for temp, oil, etc.
Interior Seats are clean with no rips or tears. Take a look inside and it looks great.Interior carpet is clean and intact with extreme wear on the footwells passenger and driver side.Dash has the usual cracks, you have many options to address this from carpet cover, plastic cover.Stereo works it is an aftermarket with somewhat decent sound.Glove box, seems to be locked with no key. I do not want to break it open.Has original spare tire, and most toolsHas the rear hatch shade in tact, but as usual does not work very well, still in good shape.Has sunroof storage bagA couple of neat items that were "high tech back in the 80's"A key lock kill switch, a second lock on driver side outside car with key to disable the ability to start ignition it then sounds horn alarm. Also has the very popular after market front BRA of the 80's and 90's (Who uses those any more?) Classic look.I do not have any documents other than a clean and clear title. I will provide a bill of sale as well for transfer.
I recently drove it about 50 miles round trip to the local Cars & Coffee with no problems just before listing it.
If you're looking for a good start this car is a good one to base your restoration/driver.
You could do an engine refresh and be all set for the weekend car shows or take it now.I think these cars are going to appreciate and any work put into the car will retain the value.
