The 1983 Porsche 911SC (Super Carrera) 3.0 liter is a very important piece of the sporting heritage of the Porsche. Introduced in 1978, he SC has been refined from a decent car in 1978 (with engine performance inhibited by the emissions requirements of the era) to a great car in 1983 throughout its 6 year production cycle. The final production year SC is a very refined version of the SC and has all the updates: higher performance engine (about 180 horsepower for the US version), pdated cam chain tensioners to eliminate failures, ewer leather wrapped steering wheel, nd many standard features like air conditioning, ower windows, lack trim (instead of chrome), einforced valve covers, nd many other minor details. Now to this collector caliber, urn-key, ery well-sorted, alifornia, uards Red, riginal paint, riginal black sport seat interior, riginal engine, umbers-matching 1983 911SC. When purchased, t was a very nice, riginal car, ut not quite up to my high standards. It had a $20,000 service performed last March to bring this car up to the next level. It has only been driven about 800 miles since then. Among the upgrades and maintenance that the car received: 930 hydraulic cam chain tensioner upgrade, orted and polished cylinder heads with new valve guides and top quality machine work (bringing the engine power up to around 215 horsepower with the exhaust system upgrade),SSI stainless steel heat exchangers (great performance upgrade), ansk 1974 Carrera exhaust system per SSI recommendation, ew complete factory clutch assembly (since the engine was off the car, ot due to wear), ew Bridgestone high performance tires, il cooler upgrade, ebuild brake calipers with new seals along with new brake pads and rotors (due to age rather than wear), nd a WEVO short shift kit. Weighing only around 2600 pounds, his car moves very well now, ven by modern standards! There are many other individual items which were serviced I can let you know about upon asking.
