Here for sale in sunny and dry El Pas, Texas is this 1979 Porsche 928 Euro 5-speed manual edition. Before I begin with my description of the car, please note that this car is NOT fully restored. It is a running and driving project . If you are looking for a fully restored 928, please be prepared to pay $25,000.00 or more somewhere else. This classic land shark has been in storage since 1993 ! That is almost 3 decades of storage ! What is most interesting about this Porsche is that this is a true Euro edition, meaning that this car was imported in November of 1978 by P.Michael Batty. If you look at the 5th digit on the VIN, it will show on American Porsche 928's a number 2. This Porsche 928 has the 5th digit as a number 1, meaning it is a euro . 1 meaning R.O.W. or rest of the world. If you look at the VI, it will show the import date and information on the door pillar (please look at the photos). This vintage sports car was bought from the last owner who had this car stored and preserved in his warehouse all these years. Since I purchased the car, I have replaced the fuel pump, fuel tank, fuel filter, rear fuel lines, new spark plugs and air cleaner. The front and rear seats have been re-done in real leather and a full new carpet has been installed. It also has a new dash cap and the rear panels have also been restored. The interior on this car looks amazing. The floors and battery tray are in great shape as well. This is a very solid example for its age. This car runs,drives and stops. It is still in need of new tires, an oil change and a tune up to make it road worthy again. A tremendous amount of money and hard work has been done to have it in this shape so far. This is considered a project as it sits today. It has a couple of chips and scratches on the paint.This car still has what appears to be the original exhaust which is really uncommon for a car this old. The tires appear to be new, but since it has been sitting for so many years, they have become flat on the bottom,so I would definitely replace them. I have gone as far as i can restoring this classic, but my interest has changed to another car. I am a classic car collector, and sometimes you have to give up one toy for another ! That being said, the new owner can take over and have a great sports car for half the price of another 928 in the same condition ! Please look at all of the pictures i have listed.
