1989 Porsche S2 in good running condition. Only 85,420 miles. Receipts for a rebuilt steering rack which I had installed at 85,147 miles. Receipts for timing belt, balance shaft belt and water pump and tensioner install at 82,659 miles. Recent oil change with Mobile 1 synthetic, new air filter, new plugs. Compression test between 195 and 200 psi on all 4 cylinders at that time. This car starts, handles and stops as a Porsche 944 S2 should. It shifts good with a good clutch and has very good acceleration, revs up easily and stops like it should. The interior is in good shape. I would rate it as about 8 out of 10. The exterior is in good shape too. I would rate it as a 8 out of 10. The tires look to be in good shape. The car includes the mini spare tire and inflater. The air conditioner blows cold. The heater works. The sun roof opens and closes but I have never removed it off of the car. The headlights pop up and down and the high and low beams work. The directional signals and brake lights work. The speedo and tach work. The odometer works. The leather seats are in good condition. The dashboard is good with only a very small crack visible.
This car does have some minor issues to be taken care of. The ABS light is on. This means the anti-lock system is not working. The car has good brakes, just not anti-lock brakes. The alarm system works but you have to unlock the car from the passenger side or the alarm sets off. I think the micro switch on the drivers side lock needs replacing. The passenger power seat is not working. It was working but stopped. It may be the switch. The radio was working but the code has to be reset. I have the code but the rocker switch on the radio to reset the code doesn't seem to be working. The engine sometimes stumbles and sometimes stalls during warm up. This only happens about three quarters of the way between cold and fully warmed up. Once warmed up the engine runs great. I think it may be a sensor somewhere but I haven't searched it out.
I bought the car last fall and I am only selling because I need money for health care issues. If you want to have this car inspected at YOUR expense BEFORE the bidding ends, let me know.
This car is being sold AS IS, WHERE IS, with no warrantee expressed or implied. This is a 27 year old Porsche and like any older car, needs ongoing maintenance to keep running good. I have disclosed everything I know about this car but hidden defects or maintenance issues that I do not know about may need to be taken care of. Shipping and pick up is the buyers responsibility. There is a moderately low reserve on this car so it should sell quick. It's a really fun car to drive and needs just a little care to make it perfect. Happy bidding!
