1982 Porsche 911 964, RS Additional Info:

You're looking at my beautiful Porsche 911 Cabriolet. The car started its life as a 1982 Targa, and was professionally converted to a Cabriolet using Porsche factory parts. A lot of money and time were spent doing the conversion properly. No corners cut! The factory top latching mechanism is power and uses a factory sunroof switch by the gauges to release/seal the front of the soft top to the windshield. The top, once unlatched, folds down and up manually. There is a cloth tonneau cover that snaps on and off for a more streamlined look when the top is down.
The bodywork on the car is factory original Porsche 964 bumpers and rocker covers. No aftermarket junk here! Proper rubber body seals were used at that time the car was converted/painted as well, and is a factory white car from new. The car appears to have never been in any accidents and the title is clean/clear and in my possession. The bright white paint is shiny, smooth, and looks great but there are a few very minor imperfections from being a "driver". Paint job was done well at the time with no overspray/windows out/trim off. Flaws are minor and nothing detracts from the overall beauty of the car. Most can be easily touched up if they bother you. No dents or dings to speak of. The car also has upgraded headlights, and a 964 rear reflector. Side mirrors are 993. All glass is in great shape. Euro front license plate is included.
The soft top is in good shape overall, with a clear back plastic window. There is a small cut in the cloth on the driver's side that has been temporarily "patched". It doesn't affect the usability of the top, and does not leak. I keep the top down when driving, and the car covered when garaged so it's never visible. However, I have a brand new correct German cloth soft top (new in box) that will be included if bidding exceeds $32,500. It can be purchased by the winning bidder for an additional $350 if winning bid is less ($450+ value), if so desired.
The interior of the car is upgraded to the RS America look with rare factory cloth RS America Sport Seats (quite valuable on their own!), and RS door panels. The seats are power up/down/tilt and manually slide forward/back and recline. The cloth seats are awesome as they really grip you. The drivers seat has minor wear, passenger seat looks new. The dash top is perfect with no cracks. All gauges work, but clock has a mind of its own. Upgraded steering wheel with Porsche crest horn button. Rear leather seats are from a 993 with upper center seatback divider. Horn, wipers, power windows all work.
The mileage on the chassis is around 132k. The body and underside are completely rust free. The conversion was done several years ago and the motor is a very strong and healthy lower mile 3.2 liter Carrera engine, believed to be from an '86 Carrera. The motor is dry with very minimal weaping, and does not smoke at start up nor during normal operation. No unusual noises. Starts with the first blip of the key. The rear factory Carrera spoiler is from an '86 Carrera and still has the factory sticker underneath.Rims are factory 993. Tranny is a 915 5 speed and has a good feel. Clutch feels new. The car pulls strong and smooth. Car is lowered to Euro ride height.
Service that I just had performed within the last week includes oil/filter change, alignment, new upper and lower pulleys for fan and crank, new brake slave and master cylinders as well as a new brake booster. Pedal cluster was rebuilt with new bushings.Under the front bonnet is a chassis stiffening strut tower brace. When my mechanic was rebuilding the pedal cluster he also replaced the wood board that goes behind the cluster due to typical delamination.
I'm selling because I'm in the process of finishing the restoration of my "Signal Orange" 1970 911E coupe and as you can see I have several other Porsche's. I'm going to focus my efforts on the 911E and my silver '78 911SC Targa, so this one needs to find a good new home. This car is a great driver and needs nothing to be immediately enjoyed. It performs beautifully and gets tons of thumbs ups whenever I take her out! Please only bid if you are a serious buyer. A $500 PayPal deposit is due immediately following the end of the auction, and remaining balance is to be bank wired within 3 business days. No exceptions. I will happily sell overseas and will end the action early for the right price. Please ask questions before bidding. You will love this Porsche if you win it! Thank so for looking and happy bidding! Car is located at my river home in Conway, SC.
